An autosampler includes: a sample cooling unit that is brought into thermally contact with a bottom surface of a sample rack so as to cool a sample accommodated in the sample rack; a condensed water receiver that has at least one hole on a bottom surface thereof, and is provided below the sample rack for receiving water condensed around the sample rack; a discharging passage configured in such a manner that a droplet falling from the at least one hole flows therein.

A differential refractometer including a measurement section for measuring the diffractive index difference between a sample cell and a reference cell by radiating light on a measurement cell and detecting light which has sequentially passed through the sample cell and the reference cell includes a mobile phase supply section for delivering a mobile phase in a sample introduction channel that is connected to the sample cell. The mobile phase supply section includes a mobile phase container for containing the mobile phase. The inside of the mobile phase container is continuously stirred by a stirring mechanism, and the composition of the mobile phase inside the mobile phase container is made uniform.

A sample injection portfor injecting a sample into a chromatograph or other devices is composed of a bodymade of an inelastic material, a first seal membermade of an elastic material and attached to one end of the body part, and a second seal membermade of an elastic material and attached to the other end of the body part. A first through hole formed in the first seal member, a second through hole formed in the second seal memberand a third through hole formed in the body partare coaxially connected to form an introduction hole for sample injection. With this construction, a sample injection port which has a small inner diameter, is easy to manufacture, and yet capable of achieving a high pressure resistance can be provided.

Sample injection port and auto-sampler having the same

A sample injecting device is provided for reducing carryover. The sample injecting device includes the following mode: a needle is set at a low descending speed when sample is injected into an injection port in a total-volume injection manner by the sample injecting device. When the needle is in contact with the injection port, the needle is set at a low speed, thereby increasing the accuracy of the position of the needle relative to an injection hole and decreasing friction between the needle and the injection hole. Contaminants present in the injection hole are prevented from easily flowing from the injection hole into an analyzing flow path, so as to achieve an excellent low carryover.

A channel switching valve is disclosed. The channel switching valve has a stator and a body section each having a connecting surface. The stator and the body section are removably fixed to each other by bolts at their connecting surfaces. Each of the connecting surfaces has a protruding/recessed pattern formed thereon, and the patterns are designed to fit into each other. By rotating the stator and the body section relative to each other, the stroke of a spring is changed between a position where the protruding/recessed patterns of the stator and the body section are fitted into each other and a position where they are not fitted into each other. The spring is held in the body section in its compressed state to urge the rotor toward the stator. An urging force for pressing the rotor against the stator is adjusted by changing the stroke of the spring.

In a method of forming a needle for an auto-sampler successively collecting liquid samples from plural sample containers, a parent material forming the needle is coated with a coating material having a chemical activity small than that of the needle. Then, the coated parent material is polished so that the surface has an average roughness of 10 to 20 nm.
