A first connector is provided with a first terminal and a first housing that has a first mating guide portion, and a second connector is provided with a second terminal and a second housing that has a second mating guide portion. The first mating guide portion includes a recessed portion into which the second mating guide portion is inserted, and an end wall portion, wherein the inside faces thereof define the lengthwise-direction outsides of the first housing in the recessed portion.

Circuit board-circuit board connector

A board-to-board connector is disclosed. The board-to-board connector comprises a first connector and a second connector. The first connector has first terminals and a first housing which has first fitting guide portions formed at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the first housing. The second connector has second terminals configured to make contact with the first terminals, and a second housing which has second fitting guide portions formed at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the second housing and configured to engage with the first fitting guide portions.

Board-to-board connector

A surface mount connector includes first terminals and second terminals to be mated to counterpart terminals of a mating counterpart connector. The first terminals and the second terminals are mounted in a housing in an alternating array. Each of the first terminals includes a contact portion to be connected to a first counterpart terminal, a fixing portion connected to an outer side of the contact portion and fixed to the housing, and a surface-mounting soldering portion connected to an outer side of the fixing portion. Each of the second terminals includes a contact portion to be connected to a second counterpart terminal, a fixing portion connected to an outer side of the connecting portion and fixed to the housing, and a surface-mounting soldering portion connected to a mounting-surface side end of the fixing portion.

High density surface mount connector

A cable connector comprising having a housing with an opening for receiving an end of a flat cable therein. The housing also has a plurality of terminal recesses, and a plurality of conductive terminals disposed in the recesses for connecting to conductive leads of the flat cable. The terminals are provided with solder connecting portions for adhering to conductive pads by soldering, and contact portions for contacting the flat cable conductive leads. The terminals recesses are at least partly defined by terminal holding walls confronting external surfaces of the terminals received therein, by broad width portions, and a cut-away portions formed between parts in the terminals holding walls, the parts facing the terminal solder connecting portions and contact portions, respectively.

Flat cable connector

A board-to board electrical connector assembly is provided for effecting a connection between two circuit boards. The assembly includes a first connector having a dielectric housing for mounting on a first circuit board. A plurality of first terminals are 5 mounted on the dielectric housing and each terminal includes a tail portion for connection to an appropriate circuit trace on the first circuit board and a convex contact portion defining a continuous arcuate contact surface. A second connector has a dielectric housing for mounting on a second circuit board. A plurality of second terminals are mounted on the dielectric housing of the second connector and each second terminal includes a tail portionfor connection to an appropriate circuit trace on the second circuit board, and a contact projection for sliding over the continuous arcuate contact surface of the convex contact portion of the first terminals upon mating of the connectors.

Disclosed is an unlocking-proof PGA package socket which is so designed that upon the slide plate being put in its locking position for fastening a PGA package to the socket the longest vector of the circular cam member runs beyond the point of contact at which the cam member is put in contact with the slide plate, thereby allowing the kickback to push the cam member in the direction opposite to the direction in which the cam member turns toward unlocking position.

Disclosed is an improvement in a right-angled type of connector having a plurality of terminals parallel-arranged in its insulating housing, each terminal comprising a tail and a contact section integrally connected to the tail at right angles, the tail being to be inserted in a selected through-hole in an associated printed circuit board. The terminal has an intermediate crank-like section formed between its tail and contact section, thereby lowering the contact section toward the tip end of the tail. This allows the connector housing to be reduced in height.

Low-profile connector

A socket for a PGA package can maintain high reliability of connecting condition for a long period. The socket is constructed by mounting a reinforcement plate formed with a metal plate or the like at the position where the cam member contacts the slide plate so that the slide plate, which is formed of an insulative materials such as plastic or the like, will not be deformed upon exertion of a reaction force from a plurality of lead pins of a PGA package.

A board-to board electrical connector assembly is provided for effecting a connection between two circuit boards. A board-to-board electrical connector assembly is provided for effecting a connection between two circuit boards. The assembly includes a first connector having a low profile dielectric housing including a mating face and a mounting face for mounting the connector on a first circuit board. A plurality of spaced mating posts project from the mating face of the housing. A second connector has a low profile dielectric housing including a mating face for mating with the mating face of the first connector and a mounting face for mounting on a second circuit board. The dielectric housing of the second connector includes a plurality of mating passages in the mating face thereof for receiving the mating posts of the first connector. The passages extend from the mating face all the way to and through the mounting face of the dielectric housing of the second connector.

A card connector assembly for receiving a card member is provided with an eject device wherein the eject device is assembled directly onto the support frame of the card connector assembly to thereby reduce the number of components, the number of assembly steps and the resultant manufacturing costs of the connector assembly. The card connector assembly comprises a card guide portion ( ), a connector portion ( ) to be connected to the card member, a support frame ( ) continuous with both the card guide portion and the connector portion and an eject device ( ). The eject device ( ) comprises a slide member ( ) slidably movable along the support frame ( ), a movable lever ( ) operating in accordance with movement of the slide member ( ) for moving the card in a direction away from the card connector ( ), and a cam mechanism ( ) for defining the sliding range of the slide member ( ). A part of the cam mechanism ( ) is provided directly in the support frame ( ).

Card connector assembly with improved ejection device

A socket for a PGA package includes a planar insulative housing for mounting a plurality of terminals in grid array fashion. Each of the terminals has a solder tail projecting from one side surface of the insulative housing to be soldered to a printed circuit board. Each of the terminals includes a planar main portion extending in the direction of mounting to the insulative housing, an anchor portion for engaging with the insulative housing on side edges of the main body, a contact piece folded back into generally U-shaped configuration from a lower end of the main body and mutually opposing to the main body, and a solder tail extending toward the printed circuit board. The contact piece has a contact portion on an outside surface thereof for contacting with a pin of the PGA package.

Socket for PGA package

A shielded electrical connector is provided with features that enable miniaturization. The connector includes a shield having a ground spring for deflectably engaging a mated plug that is matably inserted with the connector. The ground spring has at least one elbow so that the ground spring has a longer effective length. For example, the ground spring may extend over more than one panel of the shield or have at least one generally angular or L-shaped segments. Also, a connector cable assembly is provided having a first plug connector and a second plug connector mounted at opposite ends of a cable. To ensure that a user can insert the respective plug connectors only into the respectively corresponding receptacle connectors, each of the plug connectors has a shield with a keying projection. The first and second plug connectors may be substantially identical, except that the keying projections of the first and second connectors are on respectively opposite sides.

Shielded electrical connector with ground contact spring

An eject mechanism for a card-receiving connector equipped with a foldable eject button which provides sufficient mechanical ejection stroke without excess projection of the ejection button from a front face of an electronic apparatus. The card ejection mechanism includes an eject rod, an eject button connected to the ejection rod, and an actuation lever for ejecting a memory card from the card-receiving connector. The eject button includes a base button and an operation button. The operation button is pivotally connected to the base button and is mounted for movement between a raised position where the operation button is axially aligned with base button, and a folded position where the operation button is oriented generally perpendicular to the base button. The operation button includes a base portion for engaging a corresponding recess in the base button for holding the operation button in its raised position.

Card eject mechanism for card-receiving connector

An improved connector terminal has a profile which facilitates insertion into engagement holes on a circuit board and increases resistance to deformation. The terminals may be part of an assembly which includes a series of terminals arranged in a spaced-apart array. Each has a solder tail portion defined by a straight edge (11) proximate to the centerline (9) and a slanted edge (12) which diagonally extends from the other side and which traverses the centerline (9) to intersect with the straight edge (11) to thereby form an acute angle at the tip (E) of the terminal near the centerline (9) to provide comparable positioning allowances on the opposite sides of the centerline (9) to facilitate mounting of the terminals on a circuit board. The acute angle point is advantageous to the optical measurement of terminal intervals for the quality control.
