A steering column cover body accommodates therein at least one of an electric junction block, a meter and at least one switch which are directly connected with each other. The switch includes at least one of a turn switch, a wiper switch, a hazard switch and an ignition switch. The meter includes a circuit board on which a first circuit for driving the meter and a second circuit for driving the at least one switch is mounted.

Steering column module

In a connector assembly for receiving a plurality of mating connectors each provided with a wire harness, each of subassemblies is provided with a first internal space and a second internal space which are defined by an internal partition wall, and conductive tabs piercing the partition wall so as to project into both of the first internal space and the second internal space. The subassemblies are stacked one on another. Each of the connectors is inserted into the first internal space of an associated one of the subassemblies. Terminals are provided in each of the connectors to be electrically connected to the conductive tabs. A first end of an electric wire is connected to one of the terminals which is provided in one of the connectors. A second end of the electric wire is connected to another one of the terminals which is provided in another one of the connectors. Each of the mating connector is inserted into the second internal space of an associated one of the subassemblies, to be electrically connected to the conductive tabs.

Joint receiving connector

The wiring harness has a plurality of first sub-harnesses, a plurality of second sub-harnesses, and a connection portion electrically connecting one of electrical cables of the sub-harnesses to another. The first sub-harness has a first press-fit terminal joined to each end of a first one of the electrical cables, and the first sub-harness has a first isolator holding the first press-fit terminal. The second sub-harness has a second press-fit terminal, a crimp terminal, and a connector housing for accommodating the crimp terminal, and a second isolator supporting the second press-fit terminal. The second press-fit terminal is connected to one end of a second one of the electrical cables, and the crimp terminal is connected to the other end of the second one of the electrical cables. A connection means is provided for connecting one of the press-fit terminal held by one of the first or second isolators to the press-fit terminal held by another of the first or second isolators. The connection portion is completed by the connection means that connects the press-fit terminals held by different isolators to one another when any of the first and second isolators are layered.

Wiring harness and manufacturing method of the same

There are provided blocks (A), (B), . . . corresponding to pieces of sub-harness (A), (B), . . . . In each block, there are provided a longitudinal opening and a bottom opening which are arranged in the vertical direction, at a forward end portion of each accommodating chamber for accommodating the spring contact point of the connecting terminal (A), (B), . . . . When the blocks are put on each other in the vertical direction, the top of the spring contact point on the lower block (A) side gets into the bottom opening of the upper block (B) from the longitudinal opening Therefore, the top of the spring contact point on the lower block (A) side comes into contact with the rear face of the base piece of the spring contact point on the upper block so that electrical continuity can be attained. Due to the foregoing, the splice between the pieces of subharness (A) and (B) can be absorbed.

Splice absorbing structure

A method of assembling a wire harness circuit includes providing a plurality of module plates, attaching wire connection terminals to predetermined wires of a plurality of wire sub-harnesses, inserting one or more wire connection terminals into selected wire housing grooves on the module plates, laminating the module plates on each other so as to form a laminated body, and inserting at least one connection member into the laminated body through openings in the module plates to electrically connect selected wire connection terminals on respective module plates. A wire harness according to the invention includes a plurality of wire sub-harnesses, each wire sub-harness comprising a plurality of wires, a plurality of wire connection terminals engageable with preselected wires to establish an electrical connection, a plurality of module plates laminated on each other so as to form a laminated body, and at least one connection member insertable into the laminated body through openings in the module plates to electrically connect selected wire connection terminals on respective module plates.

Wire harness circuit configuration method and wire harness

An electric connection box for connecting a plurality of sub-wire harnesses is disclosed. The electronic connection box comprises a power supply section, a plurality of sub-wire harness connection plates, a plurality of intermediate connection terminals, and a connection section. The power supply section has terminal sections. The plurality of sub-wire harness connection plates are laminated on the power supply section. Each sub-wire harness connection plate has a plurality of set grooves to put electric wires of a sub-wire harness thereinto. Each set groove of sub-wire harness connection plate has a plurality of through holes formed at a bottom thereof and spaced apart from each other in a longitudinal direction thereof. Each intermediate connection terminal is electrically connected to an electric wire of a sub-wire harness and is set in a set groove of a sub-wire harness connection plate so that a through connection conductor connection section thereof is aligned with a through hole of the set groove. The connection section has a plurality of through connection conductors. Each through connection conductor is connected to a terminal section of the power supply section after being inserted through a predetermined through hole in each of the sub-wire harness connection plates and connected to each through connection conductor connection section aligned with the predetermined through hole.

Electric connection box

In a splice-absorbing connector, a connector housing ( ) comprises a plurality of sub-housings stacked ( A, B, . . . ) together. Order identification portions ( ), which mean stack order positions of the sub-housings ( A, B, . . . ), respectively, and are different in appearance from one another, are formed respectively on one surfaces ( ) of the sub-housings ( A, B, . . . ) which do not overlap each other, and are disposed in a common plane. When the sub-housings ( A, B, . . . ) are stacked together in correct order, the order identification portions ( ) of these sub-housings ( A, B, . . . ) jointly form a pattern of a predetermined regularity.

Splice absorbing connector having a plurality of sub-housings stuck together

A branching apparatus includes an insulating bottom plate , and a plurality of branch connection insulating plates stacked together on the insulating bottom plate , and a branch connector portion , wires passing through each of the branch connection insulating plates in parallel relation to each other. The branch connector portion includes an insulating housing , cooperating with the insulating bottom plate to hold the branch connection insulating plates , and a plurality of penetrating connection conductors supported on the insulating housing . One end portion of each of the penetrating connection conductors passes through the branch connection insulating plates , and is electrically connected to the associated wires to thereby effect the branch connection, and the other end portion of each penetrating connection conductor is exposed to the exterior, and serving as a connector male terminal portion

Branching apparatus

An electrical junction box provided for wiring up an automobile. In the electrical junction box, a plurality of bus bars and a wiring board are accommodated in a main cover and an under cover, and tabs raised from the bus bars are inserted into connector mounting frames formed on the main cover and the under cover. One of the tabs is long, and the connector mounting frame of the under cover has a length which makes constant a depth of a recess formed by the connector mounting frame when the bus bar having the long tab is mounted.

Electrical junction box for wiring an automobile

An electric connection box which has multiple functions to satisfy various types of equipment to be used. In the connection box, a plurality of first T-shaped ribs (14) of a T-shaped transverse cross-section are provided respectively at positions projected from a wall- portion (12) of a box body (2) by an amount equal to a base portion (14a), and a plurality of second T-shaped ribs (15), each having no base portion, are formed on the wall portion (12). A first fitting portion (32) for fitting on the first T-shaped rib (14) and a second fitting portion (42) for fitting on the second T-shaped rib (15) are formed in a cover (3) for fitting on the box body (2). When fitting the cover (3) on the box body (2), another part (51) is fitted on the first T-shaped rib (14) in an empty condition, and a selected one of the covers of different designs can be attached to the box body (2), which is a common part, and also the additional part can be mounted on the electric connection box.

A fitting structure for mounting an electrical connection box to a vehicle body is provided. The fitting structure includes a box body constituting the electrical connection box and having first and second engagement projections and a vehicle fitting part arranged on the vehicle body to have first and second engagement holes into which the first and second engagement projections are to be engaged respectively. The first engagement projection has an engagement claw part engageable with a margin of the first engagement hole. A screw-fastened plate part and a temporary engagement projection are arranged on another side of the box body. In mounting the electrical connection box to the vehicle fitting part, the first engagement projection is firstly inserted into the first engagement hole so that the engagement claw part engages with the margin of the first engagement hole. Under such a condition, the box body is pivoted about the first engagement projection, so that the second engagement projection is inserted into the second engagement hole. Then, both of the screw-fastened plate part and the temporary engagement projection engage the box body with the vehicle fitting part temporarily.

Fitting structure for electrical connection box

The present invention provides a wiring method and apparatus to wire two wiring board assemblies, each of which comprises: an insulating substrate; and a plurality of pressure terminals or busbars secured to the substrate, each having a press-connection portion formed with a slot. Wire connection is made by pressing the wires into the slots of the pressure terminals. The process of wiring is as follows. With two or more pairs of front and rear wire laying heads arranged on a wire laying plate that holds the insulating substrate, (a) a plurality of wires are parallelly laid between the two wiring board assemblies; (b) each wire is supported at two points of an intermediate portion of the wire to keep both end portions of each wire straight; (c) the wire laying heads are moved in a direction perpendicular to the wire laying direction and the first row wire is positioned on specified slots of the pressure terminals on the two wiring board assemblies; (d) the first row wire is pressed into the slots and cut; (e) the steps (c) and (d) are repeated to press the second to final row wires into specified slots of the pressure terminals on the two wiring board assemblies and cut these wires; and (f) the steps (a) to (e) are repeated.

Method of and apparatus for wiring board assemblies

The electric junction box includes a casing 20-23 and a plurality of busbar conductors 30 accommodated in the casing, each of which consists of an insulating substrate 31 and a plurality of busbars 32 with upright tabs 33 arranged face-to-face on the substrate 31. The busbar conductors 30 are accommodated in at least two blocks A1 and A2 in the casing and wires 40 are provided for electrically connecting desired busbars 32 in different and/or the same block. The above construction allows a circuit-change to be made with ease and unnecessary circuits to be precluded. The overall weight and production costs of busbar conductors and thus the junction box are reduced.
