According to this, there is provided an information recording method including the processes of: detecting whether a recording signal to be inputted from the outside is a recording signal conformable to DVD video standards only for playback; detecting whether the recording signal includes an inhibition flag indicating that the recording signal is inhibited from being recorded as an analog signal; and, when it is detected that the recording signal conforms to the DVD video standards and that the recording signal includes the inhibition flag, inhibiting the signal from being recorded.
