Provided is a complex obtained by reacting a polymer compound derivative obtained by modifying part of the hydroxy groups or amino groups of a polymer compound having the hydroxy groups or amino groups with a compound represented by the following general formula (I) with one or more kinds of compounds represented by the following general formulae (II) to (V): (I) A-X&#x2014;Si(Y)R; (II) M(OR)R; (III) Al(OR)R; (IV) Mg(OR)R; and (V) [Si(OR)R]&#x2014;(X)&#x2014;[Si(OR)R].

Separating agent for optical isomer

[1] A &#x3b2;-phellandrene polymer which is a polymerization product of &#x3b2;-phellandrene. [2] The &#x3b2;-phellandrene polymer comprising &#x3b2;-phellandrene units represented by chemical formulae (I-1), (I-2), (II-1) and (II-2), a total amount of the &#x3b2;-phellandrene units being 50% by mass or more. [3] The &#x3b2;-phellandrene polymer, which has a number average molecular weight Mn of 40,000 or more. [4] The &#x3b2;-phellandrene polymer, wherein at least a part of olefinic carbon-carbon double bonds thereof are hydrogenated. [5] The &#x3b2;-phellandrene polymer, which has a glass transition temperature of 80&#xb0; C. or more.

The present invention provides: a polysaccharide derivative containing a structure wherein hydrogen atoms in a hydroxyl group at the 2-position and the 3-position of a structure unit of polysaccharide are substituted with different substituents respectively represented by a specific general formula and a separating agent for optical isomers which contains such a polysaccharide derivative. The present invention can provide a novel polysaccharide derivative which has excellent optical isomer separating ability, making it suitable as a separating agent for optical isomers, and can provide a separating agent for optical isomers which contains the polysaccharide derivative.

Polysaccharide derivative and separating agent for optical isomer containing the same

A filler for optical isomer separation which: allows a polymer compound derivative to be immobilized on the surface of a carrier at a high ratio and is excellent in optical separation ability. The filler is characterized in that the filler is obtained by modifying part of the hydroxy or amino groups of a polymer compound having the hydroxy or amino groups with molecules of a compound represented by the following general formula (I): A-X&#x2014;Si(Y)R, and is carried by a carrier through chemical bonding.

Filler for optical isomer separation

To provide a &#x3b2;-pinene polymer excellent in heat resistance while having thermoplasticity, and further also having excellent strength, without impairing the inherent characteristics of small specific gravity and excellent transparency. A desired &#x3b2;-pinene polymer having a weight average molecular weight of 90,000 to 1,000,000 and a glass transition temperature of 80&#xb0; C. or more was obtained by polymerizing &#x3b2;-pinene in the presence of a bifunctional vinyl compound.

&#x3b2;-pinene polymer and process for producing the same

A polymer compound derivative, obtained by modifying part of the hydroxy or amino groups of a polymer compound having the hydroxy or amino groups with molecules of a compound represented by the following general formula (I): A-X&#x2014;Si(Y)R(I), where A represents a reactive group which reacts with a hydroxy or amino group, X represents an alkylene group which has 1 to 18 carbon atoms and which may have a branch, or an arylene group which may have a substituent, Y represents a reactive group which reacts with a silanol group to form a siloxane bond, R represents an alkyl group which has 1 to 18 carbon atoms and which may have a branch, or an aryl group which may have a substituent, and n represents an integer of 1 to 3.

Provided is a chitosan derivative having a high optical resolving power. Specifically provided is a chitosan derivative represented by the following Formula (I). wherein Rrepresents an aliphatic group or an aromatic group having a carbon number of 1 to 30 which may have a substituent; Rrepresents a substituent originating from an isocyanic acid derivative, carboxylic acid, ester, acid halide, acid amide compound, halide compound, aldehyde, or alcohol; and n is an integer of 5 or more.

Chitosan derivative and method of producing same

There is provided a process for producing beads for enantiomeric isomer resolution with a satisfactory separation efficiency. The beads for enantiomeric isomer resolution include a polysaccharide derivative, in which the polysaccharide derivative has a structure crosslinked at the 6-position hydroxy group of constituent units of the polysaccharide with a crosslinking agent. The process for producing the beads for enantiomeric isomer resolution includes: the step of adding dropwise an organic solvent solution of the polysaccharide derivative to a coagulation bath being stirred to thereby produce beads; the step of taking out the beads and then optionally drying the same after washing; and the step of reacting the beads with a crosslinking agent in an organic solvent to react at least part of the 6-position hydroxy groups in the constituent units of the polysaccharide with the crosslinking agent, thereby obtaining a reaction mixture containing beads having a crosslinked structure.
