A method, a computer program product, and a system for pre-pooling virtual machine components prior to application startup. The method includes reading a virtual machine pool manifest by a virtual machine pool manager. The virtual machine pool manifest includes an initial number of virtual machines to launch, how many virtual machines to allocate resources to, and an amount of resources to allocate based on a virtual machine resource definition. The method also includes launching a plurality of base virtual machines into a virtual machine pool and based on the initial number provided by the virtual machine pool manifest. The base virtual machines lack initial application assignments. The method further includes allocating initial resources to a portion of the base virtual machines based on a virtual machine resource definition in the virtual machine pool manifest. The method includes loading core program packages into the portion of the base virtual machines.

Pool management for in-vehicle device application startup

A device and related method are associated with a focus vehicle. The device comprises a sensor that senses area information about an information area usable to assist the focus vehicle and an oncoming vehicle to pass each other, a transmitter that broadcasts the area information via a vehicle-to-vehicle network protocol, and a controller. The controller produces an assisting result from the area information and vehicle information related to the focus vehicle and the oncoming vehicle. The vehicle information includes first distance information of the focus vehicle from the information area, and second distance information of the oncoming vehicle from the information area. The device includes a display that displays virtual traffic information representing at least stopping and proceeding of the focus vehicle onto a windshield of the vehicle.

Intelligent vehicle pass-by information sharing

A method includes receiving a first signal originating from a first communication device located in a vehicle, the first signal indicating a requested product or service, a receiving time for the requested product or service, and a moving route of the vehicle, determining a receiving location of the requested product or service based on the receiving time and the moving route indicated by the first signal, and transmitting a second signal to a second communication device associated with the determined receiving location, the second signal indicating an instruction to prepare the requested product or service.

Optimization of delivery to a recipient in a moving vehicle

A device and related method are associated with a focus vehicle. The device comprises a sensor that senses area information about an information area usable to assist the focus vehicle and an oncoming vehicle to pass each other, and a transmitter that broadcasts the area information via a vehicle-to-vehicle network (V2VN) protocol. The device comprises a controller that is configured to collect, store, and share, via the V2VN, area information comprising passing information when on a narrow road, obstacle information when on a wide road, and passing obstacle information when on the narrow road. The device produces an assisting result from the area information and vehicle information related to the focus vehicle and the oncoming vehicle, and a display that displays virtual traffic information representing at least stopping and proceeding of the focus vehicle onto a windshield of the vehicle.

A method, system, and computer program product for transferring image data taken by an on-vehicle camera. The image data and nearby-vehicle information on a vehicle are received, where the image data and the nearby-vehicle information are successively transferred from each of a plurality of vehicles capable of making a communication with each other. Furthermore, information on a line of vehicles is generated based on the nearby-vehicle information. The image data is then associated with the information on the line of vehicles. Display data may then be generated using the image data. Furthermore, the display data may be presented on a display device in the vehicle.

The computer-implemented method includes receiving, by a processor, image data including one or more landmarks. The computer-implemented method further includes identifying, by the processor, a candidate landmark within the image data. The computer-implemented method further includes presenting, by the processor, the candidate landmark to a user. The computer-implemented method further includes, in response to the user accepting the candidate landmark, storing, by the processor, the candidate landmark and a location of the candidate landmark.

A situation is circumvented where wireless communication becomes impossible in a wireless LAN system under the influence of a blocking object, noise caused by an electromagnetic wave, or the like. A wireless LAN system comprises: a relay which can communicate with an external system; a master which can communicate with the relay; and a plurality of slaves which can wirelessly communicate with the master, the plurality of slaves including a first group and a second group, the first group comprising an alternative slave having a function of transmitting, when a portion of the slaves cannot receive a synchronization signal from the master, an information signal received from the master to the portion of slaves, and the second group comprising non-alternative slaves and not having the function of transmitting the information signal to the portion of slaves.

A method, and associated system, for allocating memory to a first pipeline that includes a sequence of filters. Each filter is configured to execute a process specific to each filter, receive input data, and generate output data. The output data from each filter, except the last filter in the sequence, serves as the input data to the next filter in the sequence. An optimum memory capacity is allocated to the first pipeline if possible. Otherwise, a guaranteed memory bandwidth is allocated to the first pipeline if possible. Otherwise, extra memory currently allocated to a second pipeline is currently released if the second pipeline not currently performing processing or subsequently released when the second pipeline subsequently completes performing processing that is currently being performed, followed by allocating the extra memory to the first pipeline.

In a parallel computing system having a plurality of computing node groups including at least one spare computing node group, a plurality of managing nodes for allocating jobs to the computing node groups and an information management server having respective computing node group status information are associated with the computing node groups, and the respective managing nodes update respective in-use computing node group status information by accessing the information management server. Furthermore, when the managing node detects an occurrence of a failure, the managing node having used then the computing node group disabled due to the failure identifies a spare computing node group by accessing the computing node group status information in the information management server. Then, the managing node having used then the disabled computing node group obtains the computing node group information of the identified spare computing node group. Furthermore, since the managing node having used then the disabled computing node group can continue processing by switching the disabled computing node group to the identified spare computing node group as a computing node group to be used, on the basis of the computing node group information of the identified spare computing node group, the redundancy in the parallel computing system can be secured.

This solution relates to machine vision computing environments, and more specifically relates to a system and method for selectively accelerating the execution of image processing applications using a cell computing system. The invention provides a high performance machine vision system over the prior art and provides a method for executing image processing applications on a Cell and BPE3 image processing system. Moreover, implementations of the invention provide a machine vision system and method for distributing and managing the execution of image processing applications at a fine-grained level via a PCIe connected system. The hybrid system is replaced with the BPE3 and the switch is also eliminated from the prior in order to meet over 1 GB processing requirement.
