A glass panel and a manufacturing method thereof including numerous spacers ( ) interposed between a pair of plate glasses ( A, B), an outer peripheral closing portion ( ) provided between outer peripheries of the pair of plate glasses, and a sucking portion ( ) provided in one plate glass ( A) of the pair of plate glasses for vacuum-closing a void portion (V) between the pair of plate glasses, wherein, in constructing the sucking portion ( ), a sucking mouth ( ) is provided in one plate glass, a closing plate ( ) is disposed to cover the sucking mouth and to lie along a plane of the one plate glass, and the one plate glass is integrated with the closing plate ( ) by a bonding portion ( ).

Glass panel and method of forming the same

A conductive glass with a coat constituted mainly of a potassium-contained stannic oxide applied on a glass substrate, wherein a film thickness of the coat constituted mainly of the stannic oxide comes within the range of 1 to 100 nm, a potassium concentration is 0.1 to 10.0 wt %, and a surface compression stress of the conductive glass is 30 to 100 kg/mm.sup.2. After the stannic oxide coat is formed on the glass substrate, it is brought into contact with a melted potassium nitrate to contain potassium in the glass substrate and the coat.
