The car power source apparatus is provided with a driving battery having a plurality of connected batteries, battery-switches that connect the driving battery to the vehicle-side load, a control circuit that controls the battery-switches, and an auxiliary battery that supplies operating power to the control circuit power supply line. The power source apparatus is provided with a supplementary power supply circuit that supplies operating power to the control circuit power supply line from batteries in the driving battery to maintain control circuit operation in the event of an auxiliary battery voltage drop condition. In an auxiliary battery voltage drop condition, the supplementary power supply circuit supplies operating power to the control circuit power supply line and maintains control circuit operation to maintain control of the battery-switches.

The car power source apparatus is provided with a car driving battery, a heater which heats the driving battery, a control circuit which controls power to the heater, and a temperature sensor to detect battery temperature and issue a detected temperature signal to the control circuit. The control circuit is provided with a timer which stores a warming-time to maintain the driving battery in a warmed-up condition via the heater after the car ignition switch has been turned off. During the warming-time, which is until the timer times-out with the ignition switch turned to the off state, the control circuit controls power to the heater to maintain the driving battery in a warmed-up condition.

Power device for an automotive vehicle

A power supply is provided with a plurality of secondary batteries, a voltage detection circuit for detecting voltages of the respective secondary batteries or voltages of a plurality of battery modules each of which is a series connection of secondary batteries, and temperature sensors for detecting temperatures of secondary batteries. Each of the temperature sensors has a temperature characteristic that its electric resistance is small when the temperature of an associated secondary battery is low and increases as the temperature of the associated secondary battery increases past a setting temperature. The voltage detection circuit detects the voltages of the respective secondary batteries or the voltages of the respective battery modules as well as battery temperatures by using the temperature sensors as parts of lead wires for detection of the voltages.

A power inverter for use in the system interconnection of a direct-current supply with a commercial alternating-current supply includes an inverter circuit and a filter circuit. Feedback signals affecting the frequency of an output to be produced by the inverter circuit are taken from the filter circuit having frequency response characteristics such that the phase angle is reduced to 0.degree. at three frequencies consisting of a higher frequency, lower frequency and commercial frequency, the last of which lies halfway between the first and second. Under the normal condition, the frequency of the output produced by the inverter circuit is equal to the commercial frequency. In the event of a power failure or power cut in the commercial alternating-current supply system, deviation from the commercial frequency is caused by the characteristics of the filter circuit.
