The present invention provides a stabilized polyolefin resin composition having improved resistances to oxidation and to weather which is prepared by adding (a) a phenol antioxidant, (b) a sulfur antioxidant, (c) a hindered amine light stabilizer and (d) an aliphatic monocarboxylate of a metal belonging to the group Ia or IIb to a polyolefin resin containing an inorganic filler.

Stabilized polyolefin resin composition

A process is provided for improving the resistance to deterioration when exposed to weather and the adherence to other materials of polypropylene, particularly in the form of moldings, which comprises subjecting a surface of polypropylene to the action of activated oxygen gas at a temperature below about 100.degree. C. in the presence of an N-alkyl or N-acyl 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl piperidyl compound for a time sufficient to improve such weather resistance and adherence.

A polyolefin composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyolefine which has been produced with use of a Ziegler catalyst and has a part or residue of the catalyst left therein, 0.005 to 1 part by weight of a phenol compound having the formula (I) and 0.005 to 1 part by weight of an organic phosphite compound having the formula (II). ##STR1## in which R is a residue group of an alcohol being monohydric, dihydric, trihydric or terahydric, R1 is methyl or tert.-butyl, R2 is an alkyl, --CH2CH2COOR3 or --COOR3, R3 being an alkyl, an aryl or an alkylaryl, and n is a number of 1 to 4.
