The multi-layered heat resistant metal tube is disclosed. This tube has excellent anti-coking characteristics and is suitable for use under the conditions where carbon tends to deposit and accumulate thereon due to contacting with hydrocarbons at a high temperature. The tube is made by forming weld-mounted overlaid layer of Cr&mdash;Ni alloy by building-up welding over the inner surface and/or the outer surface of a substrate tube made of a heat resistant metal. The Cr&mdash;Ni alloy comprises 35% by weight or more of Cr and satisfies the relationship: Ni(w%)&gE;0.5Cr(wt %). Building-up welding is preferably carried out by PPW (Plasma Powder Welding) in which the filler metal is supplied in the form of powder.

Multi-layered anti-coking heat resistant metal tube and method for manufacture thereof

A metal pipe inner surface weld-mounting apparatus having a monitoring device is constituted by an arm, a horizontal torch, a mirror, a camera and a monitoring device. The arm has a supported base end portion, which is horizontally extended. The horizontal torch is attached to a leading end portion of the arm. The weld-mounting is performed on an inner surface portion of a metal pipe supported rotatably around a horizontally extending axis while at least one of the metal pipe and the horizontal torch is moved in a direction of the axis. The mirror is attached to the leading end portion of the arm. The camera is disposed in a position separated from the mirror for picking up an image of weld-mounting beads in a neighborhood of arc light of the horizontal torch through the mirror. The monitoring device monitors a condition of the weld-mounting.

Internal metal pipe welding apparatus and monitoring system

A metal pipe expander which is inserted into a metal pipe and driven to move in the axial direction of the metal pipe by a liquid pressure has an expanding section and a pressure receiving section. The expanding section has a conical portion of which a small diameter portion is directed to a front side. The pressure receiving section has a cup shaped portion opened to the rear side, the outer surface of which is in slide contact with an inner surface of the metal pipe after it is expanded in diameter. The pressure receiving section is provided at a rear end of an expanding section.

Apparatus for aligning ends of diffusion bonded materials

A vertical diffusion bonding apparatus is provided with a lower block, a pressurizing jig which is fitted to a metal pipe supplied from an upper position, and a pressurizing mechanisms stood erect on the lower block. The lower metal pipe is held by the lower block and the pressurizing jig bonded to the metal pipe is attracted toward the lower block by using the pressurizing mechanisms. Thus, the metal pipe which is supplied from an upper position is pressed against the lower metal pipe.

Vertical diffusion bonding apparatus

In a method of bonding ferric and austenitic dual stainless steels, an insert material made of a Ni base alloy having a melting point below 1290.degree. C. is put between the bonding cross section faces of mother material steels comprising a dual phase stainless steel. A pressure force in the range of 3 MPa to 5 MPa is applied to a bonding area. The bonding area is heated at a temperature in the range of 1290.degree. C. to a melting point of the mother material steel. The temperature is kept for in the range of 30 second to 180 second.

A bonding insert material mounting method includes the following steps. A bonding insert material having projections of a suitable shape formed on an outer periphery thereof at predetermined intervals is held by half-splittable holder into which joining members can be inserted in such a manner that the projections are held by the holder and that the bonding insert material is disposed at that area of the holder into which the joining members P can be inserted. One end of the holder on an end of one of the joining members is fitted so that one side of the bonding insert material is abutted against an end surface of the one joining member. An end of the other joining member is inserted into the other end of the holder, so that the end of the other joining member is abutted against the other side of the bonding insert material with a predetermined pressing force. Then, the holder is divided into two division members, and the holder is removed from the joining members.

A diffusion bonding apparatus for pipes that are supplied downward from above comprising a lower block for holding a lower pipe and an upper block for holding and pressing an upper pipe against the lower pipe. In the apparatus, three or more hydrraulic cylinders are provided in a lifting member of the upper block about a joint where the upper pipe is held in such manner that the cylinders are located in a circumference of a circle.

A gas shielding apparatus comprising a main gas jacket having induction heating means, and front gas jacket and rear gas jacket integrally disposed at supply side and discharge side of a member to be bonded or a member to be heated of the main gas jacket, wherein gas shielding is achieved by setting the internal pressure of the main gas jacket lower than the internal pressure of the front gas jacket and rear gas jacket, so that the holding time of the shielding gas jacket in the main gas jacket becomes long.
