A thermally expandable resin composition containing an epoxy resin, a thermally expandable graphite, and an inorganic filler excluding graphite. The epoxy resin contains a bisphenol-type epoxy compound and an aliphatic epoxy compound, wherein the weight ratio of the bisphenol-type epoxy compound to the aliphatic epoxy compound is in the range 95:5-60:40.

Thermal expansion resin composition

A thermally expandable resin composition containing an epoxy resin, a thermally expandable graphite, and an inorganic filler excluding graphite. The epoxy compound contained in said epoxy resin contains a brominated epoxy compound, and contains, in addition to the brominated epoxy compound, a bisphenol-type epoxy compound and/or an aliphatic epoxy compound, wherein the weight ratio of the brominated epoxy compound to the bisphenol-type epoxy compound and/or aliphatic epoxy compound is in the range 99:1-1:99.

Thermally expandable resin composition

A fireproof resin sash that is usable in fire zones or the like is provided, regarding which fireproof performance is easily imparted to a general non-fireproof resin sash without modification of the structure thereof. In a fireproof resin sash, vertical frame membersandand lateral frame membersandthat are synthetic resin members having a plurality of hollows along the longitudinal directions thereof are combined with each other to constitute an opening body, and vertical rail membersandand lateral rail membersandare combined with each other to constitute screensthat support windowpanes. Fireproof sheetsandA made up of thermally expandable fireproof material are inserted into hollows selected from the hollows of the members so that fireproof surfaces can be formed in the direction along the glass surfaces. Preferably, the thermally expandable fireproof material is formed with material having a coefficient of volumetric expansion that increases 3 to 50 times after the material is being heated for 30 minutes under radiant heat flux of 50 kW/mand a stress of 0.05 kgf/cmor higher at a breaking point after volumetric expansion measured by a compression tester with an indenter of 0.25 cm. In addition, the fireproof sheets may be inserted together with rolled steel members or wood members into the hollows.

A fire-resistant sheet-like molded article comprising a resin composition and having the relationship between the initial thickness t (mm) and temperature difference &#x394;(&#xb0; C.) between one side and the reverse side after heating of said one side at 500&#xb0; C. for 1 hour as represented by:&#x394;, andhaving the initial bulk density at 25&#xb0; C. of 0.8 to 8.0 g/cmand the bulk density after 1 hour of heating at 500&#xb0; C. of 0.05 to 0.5 g/cmis provided along with a method of fabricating a fire-resistant structural steel and fire-resistant wall.
