A printing system that enables a user to determine the number of sheets that a printing apparatus can print, the number of sheets corresponding to a power supply source that supplies power to the printing apparatus, in any power mode. The printing apparatus performs printing in any of a plurality of power modes including (i) a first power mode in which the printing apparatus is supplied with power from the battery, and (ii) a second power mode in which the printing apparatus is supplied with power supplied from both the battery and an external power supply. In the second power mode, the number of sheets that the printing apparatus can print is calculated based on the remaining battery level of the battery and an amount of power supplied from the external power supply.

In order to implement an external antenna of a radio device with a simple configuration, an antenna according to the present invention includes: a conductor plate; a first linear conductor including a portion disposed substantially in parallel to an edge of the conductor plate, and being curved halfway and connected to the conductor plate with a gap being interposed; a second linear conductor intersecting with a line extending from an end of the first linear conductor opposite to a connection end thereof connected to the conductor plate, and being connected to the conductor plate; a third linear conductor being connected to an end of the second linear conductor opposite to an end thereof connected to the conductor plate, and being disposed substantially in parallel to the first linear conductor; and a fourth linear conductor being disposed in a direction apart from the conductor plate at an end of the third linear conductor opposite to an end thereof connected to the second linear conductor.

A magnetic recording medium using a biaxially oriented aromatic polyamide film as a nonmagnetic support resulting in hardly any improper windings or edge damages. The magnetic recording medium includes a magnetic layer containing ferromagnetic powders dispersed in a binder formed on the nonmagnetic support, wherein the biaxially oriented aromatic support has a ratio of the loss tangent at a temperature of 40&deg; C. to the loss tangent at a temperature of 100&deg; C. of 0.7 or higher.

A cleaning medium for magnetic recording devices comprises a non-magnetic substrate, a lower coating layer, which is overlaid upon the non-magnetic substrate and primarily contains a binder and non-magnetic inorganic particles dispersed in the binder, and a cleaning layer, which is overlaid upon the lower coating layer and contains a binder and inorganic particles dispersed in the binder and at least containing ferromagnetic particles. An at least 50% by weight portion of the non-magnetic inorganic particles, which are contained in the lower coating layer, is constituted of granular inorganic particles, which have a mean particle diameter of at most 0.08 .mu.m, or acicular inorganic particles, which have a mean longer axis length falling within the range of 0.05 .mu.m to 0.3 .mu.m and an acicular ratio falling within the range of 3 to 20. The cleaning medium removes dirt from magnetic heads with high cleaning power, such that the wear of the magnetic heads may be small and no scratch may occur on the cleaned magnetic heads.

A continuous data server includes a storage unit connected to a buffer memory which is in turn connected to a plurality of communication control units which transfer data of the buffer memory to a network. The right to use a bus interconnecting the buffer memory and communication control units is deterministically assigned by a micro-scheduler in accordance with a program stored in a micro-schedule table. C. and a relative humidity of 90%.
