Generation of a search key shape for identifying a dedicated shape with respect to three-dimensional CAD data is facilitated. A shape group registration unit registers multiple pieces of three-dimensional CAD data; a feature amount computation unit computes a feature amount with respect to each of the registered pieces of three-dimensional CAD data; a clustering unit clusters the pieces of three-dimensional CAD data based on a feature amount; a cluster center computation unit determines a feature amount of a cluster center of each cluster from a feature amount of three-dimensional CAD data; and a search key shape registration unit registers feature amount data of a cluster center as feature amount data of a search key shape.

A modeling support system stores a combination of a CAD model and a mesh model corresponding to the CAD model; recognizes a shape indicated by the CAD model; and classifies respective parts of the stored CAD model into one of a plurality of groups. The modeling support system also specifies component parts of an input CAD model and specifies groups corresponding to the specified component parts from the specified groups. A similar-shape-model search unit searches and obtains the part of the CAD model having a shape most similar to the shape indicated by the specified component part, from the part of the CAD model in the specified groups. The present invention enables easy generation of analysis mesh data from larger CAD data including complicated partial shapes without performing shape division of CAD data. An analysis mesh data generating device comprises: a storage device configured to store CAD data, model CAD data, and model mesh data associated with the model CAD data; and a control device. The control device searches for model CAD data similar to a partial shape in the CAD data from the model CAD data stored in the storage device, obtains model mesh data associated with the retrieved model CAD data from the storage device, calculates an application position of the model mesh data at analysis mesh data generated from the CAD data, deletes mesh data relate with the partial shape in the analysis mesh data, and combines the model mesh data at the calculated application position.
