A method for producing a plasma display panel includes the steps of: evacuating air from a discharge space formed between a front plate and a rear plate which are substrates facing each other through piping; introducing a discharge gas into the discharge space through gas piping that branches from the piping; and recovering the discharge gas remaining in the piping system through the piping.

Method and apparatus for producing plasma display panel

There is provided a plasma display panel in which a front plate and a rear plate are disposed opposite to each other, a side of a tubular exhaust pipe is disposed in the vicinity of a fine hole provided in the rear plate using a tablet serving as sealant formed of frit glass, peripheries of the front plate and the rear plate and the exhaust pipe are sealed with the sealant in order to form a discharge space, and the discharge space is ventilated and discharge gas is filled into the discharge space through the exhaust pipe. The rear plate and the exhaust pipe are sealed by a sealed part obtained by melting a tablet made of amorphous frit glass not containing lead, and a stress working on the sealed part is a tension in the direction of the rear plate and the direction of the exhaust pipe.

Plasma display sealing structure

A plasma display panel has front plate () and back plate () that are faced to each other. The front plate has a display electrode, a dielectric layer, and a protective layer on a front glass substrate, and the back plate has an address electrode, a barrier rib, and a phosphor layer on a back glass substrate. The periphery of the front and back plates is sealed with sealing material () to form discharge space. Sealing material () contains, as a glass component, bismuth oxide and at least one of molybdenum oxide and tungsten oxide.

A method for manufacturing a PDP equipped with an exhaust tube () for evacuating a discharge space formed by arranging a front plate () and a back plate () oppositely and sealing the circumferential edge portions of the front plate and the back plate by sealant () and then filling the discharge space with discharge gas, the method comprising steps for arranging the sealing side of the exhaust tube around a thin exhaust hole () provided in the back plate through a tablet () formed of frit glass not containing sealing lead but containing bismuth oxide, assembling the front plate and the back plate while arranging them oppositely, mounting the exhaust pipe on an exhauster while directing the side connected with the exhauster downward, and performing the sealing at a predetermined sealing temperature.

Method of manufacturing plasma display panel

A method of manufacturing a plasma display panel including a sealing step of arranging a front plate formed with a display electrode, a dielectric layer, and a protective layer on a transparent substrate and a rear plate formed with an address electrode, a barrier rib, and a phosphor layer so as to face each other and sealing a periphery of the front plate and the rear plate with a sealing material, where the sealing step includes a sealing material application step of applying the sealing material to the rear plate, a tentative firing step of tentatively firing applied sealing material, and a sealing step of arranging the front plate and the rear plate so as to face each other and sealing the plates by softening and melting the sealing material, and the sealing material is configured by a glass frit having bismuth oxide.

A plasma display panel including a gas adsorption member is disclosed. An effort of gas adsorption is obtained sufficiently, and the presence of the gas adsorption member avoids problems at an exhausting operation in exhaust-baking step. The plasma display panel includes a pair of plates opposed to each other with an enclosed discharge space in between. The pair of plates refer to a front plate and a back plate, and at least one of the plates has a communication hole, around which the gas adsorption member having a hole is disposed.

Plasma display panel having a gas absorption member

A plasma display panel (PDP) is made of front panel () and rear panel (). The front panel includes display electrodes (), dielectric layer (), and protective layer () that are formed on glass substrate (). A plasma display panel has an image display region()and a non-image display region formed by facing front glass substrate () to back glass substrate (), and has a sealed part () formed by sealing peripheries of the glass substrates in the non-image display region with a seal layer(). A thickness of at least one of the front glass substrate () and the back glass substrate () is 2.0 mm or less, and an interval between the glass substrates in the sealed part longer than an interval between the glass substrates in the image display region.

Plasma display panel having a gas adsorption member

A highly reliable plasma display panel which suppresses degradation of phosphor characteristic by removing impurity gases inside the plasma display panel. A front board includes scanning electrodes and maintenance electrodes. A and rear board includes data electrodes; partitions disposed in parallel and an exhaust hole. The scanning electrodes and maintenance electrodes of the front board and the data electrode of rear board cross. A non-evaporating getter such as zeolite is disposed inside plasma display panel near the exhaust hole.

A reflective liquid crystal display element including a liquid crystal cell filling between an upper transparent substrate and lower substrate with liquid crystal, a polarizing film disposed at the upper transparent substrate side of the liquid crystal cell, a birefringent film layer disposed between the polarizing film and liquid crystal, cell and light reflecting means disposed at the lower substrate side of the liquid crystal cell. The display element further includes an undulated layer, which is not formed in the connection terminal between the lower substrate side of the liquid crystal cell and the external circuit board. Preferably, the sectional shape of the transparent electrode in the connection terminal between the display area and external circuit is formed in three stair steps.

Reflective liquid crystal display element and image display device using the same

An electrode width of intermediate connection wiring which connects terminal electrode and common electrode is made narrower than an electrode width of terminal electrode at forming an electrode pattern on one of substrates configuring a liquid crystal display device. This enables the prevention of detrimental effect of cutting and polishing the periphery of a liquid crystal cell onto the terminal electrode. A laser irradiation process required for removing the common electrode is eliminated, and thus manufacturing cost may be reduced.
