There is provided an actuator capable of downsizing the actuator in axial and radial directions of a motor. The actuator includes a motor having an output shaft, a motor housing into which the motor is housed, an outer race, an inner race assembled with the outer race to be rotatable, a cross-roller bearing supporting an object to be rotatable so that the object member is constituted to be rotatable, wherein the outer race is mounted to the motor housing, the inner race is clamped by a support member rotating in accordance with the rotation of the output shaft and the object member fixed to the support member.

An air pump apparatus is provided which uses an electric actuator that can electrically operate a pneumatic device such as a suction pad or air chuck. The air pump apparatus includes an air cylinder having a built-in piston, and an electric actuator configured to move the piston linearly and relatively to the air cylinder, using the electric motor as a drive source. A rotational driving mechanism for driving a rotary member mounted on a rotatable base member includes: a first link unit that has a first link body and is mounted through a first support part on the base member, the first link unit further having an input part to which an output of the linear motion actuator is inputted at one side of the first link body, and an output part located in the first link body at an opposite side of the input part across the first support part; and a second link unit that has a second link body and is mounted through a second support part on the output part of the first link unit, the second link unit being further mounted through a third support unit on the rotary member or a connecting member joined thereto in such a manner as to be free to rotate.

A mechanical hand is provided that can increase the operation stroke and also the gripping force of a pair of gripping members. The hand includes first and second sliders, a driving source, a rotating plate, a first clamping link. Of these components, the first and second sliders are provided on a hand body so as to be linearly movable in opening and closing directions and the driving source is provided in the hand body. The rotating plate is rotatably driven by the driving source. The first clamping link is linked with the rotating plate so as to be only rotatable on a first shaft, and is linked with the first slider so as to be only rotatable on a second shaft. Moreover, the second clamping link is linked with the rotating plate so as to be only rotatable on a third shaft, and is linked with the second slider so as be only rotatable on a fourth shaft. The first and second sliders move linearly in the opening and closing directions by making the driving source rotate the rotating plate.

A hand mechanism including a first multi-joint finger, a second multi-joint finger, and a single-joint finger rotatable about a center of a predetermined connecting portion together with the first and second multi-joint fingers. Provided is a robot hand that is capable of gripping an object and manipulating the gripped object in a manner similar to that of a human hand, and that makes it possible to reduce the number of actuators. This robot hand is provided with: a first actuator () that imparts driving force to a first finger link () so that the first finger link () pivots relative to a base section (); and a second actuator () that imparts driving force to at least one of a second finger link () and a third finger link () so that the second finger link () pivots relative to the first finger link () and the third finger link () pivots relative to the second finger link ().

An articulated mechanism system includes a plurality of fingers (articulated mechanisms) arranged in parallel, each of which has a mounting member, a first digital part rotatably connected to the mounting member by a first connecting part, a second digital part rotatably connected to the first digital part by a second connecting part, and a first driving part rotatably connected to the second digital part by a fourth connecting part and connected to a third connecting part. By extruding the third connecting part toward the fourth connecting part, the first digital part and the second digital part are integrally rotated about the first connecting part, or the second digital part is rotated about the second connecting part when the rotation of the first digital part is blocked. The third connecting parts are driven by a single driving mechanism for the same distance and in the same direction at a time.
