A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The positive electrode includes a lithium-nickel composite oxide. The negative electrode includes a lithium-titanium composite oxide. The electrolytic solution includes a carboxylic acid ester. The carboxylic acid ester includes at least one of ethyl acetate, propyl acetate, ethyl propionate, or propyl propionate. A first oxygen spectrum and a second oxygen spectrum are detectable by a surface analysis of the positive electrode by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The first oxygen spectrum has a peak within a range of binding energy that is greater than or equal to 528 eV and less than or equal to 531 eV. The second oxygen spectrum has a peak within a range of binding energy that is greater than 531 eV and less than or equal to 535 eV. A ratio of an intensity of the first oxygen spectrum to an intensity of the second oxygen spectrum is greater than or equal to 0.30 and less than or equal to 0.80. A third oxygen spectrum and a fourth oxygen spectrum are detectable by a surface analysis of the negative electrode by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The third oxygen spectrum has a peak within a range of binding energy that is greater than or equal to 528 eV and less than or equal to 531 eV. The fourth oxygen spectrum has a peak within a range of binding energy that is greater than 531 eV and less than or equal to 535 eV. A ratio of an intensity of the third oxygen spectrum to an intensity of the fourth oxygen spectrum is greater than or equal to 0.82 and less than or equal to 1.35.

Secondary battery

A secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolytic solution. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material layer. The positive electrode active material layer includes a lithium-nickel composite oxide of a layered rock-salt type.

A positive electrode active material for a secondary battery includes a center part and a covering part. The center part includes a layered rock-salt lithium-nickel composite oxide. The covering part covers a surface of the center part and includes a boron compound. The positive electrode active material has a crystallite size of a (104) plane that is greater than or equal to 40.0 nm and less than or equal to 74.5 nm. The crystallite size is calculated by X-ray diffractometry and Scherrer equation. The positive electrode active material has a specific surface area that satisfies a condition represented by −0.0160×Z+1.72≤A≤−0.0324×Z+2.94 where Z is the crystallite size (nm), and A is the specific surface area (m/g). The specific surface area is measured by BET specific surface area measurement method.

A battery pack supplies an electrically driven treatment apparatus with an electric driving power and includes: a first stack limiting structure and a second stack limiting structure, wherein the second stack limiting structure is disposed opposite and with a fixed distance to the first stack limiting structure; a plurality of pouch cells, wherein the pouch cells are disposed in a stack, wherein the stack is disposed between the first stack limiting structure and the second stack limiting structure and a height of the stack in a stack direction is limited by the first stack limiting structure and the second stack limiting structure; and a sensor arrangement. The sensor arrangement is disposed in the stack. The sensor arrangement extends across a major part of a surface of the pouch cells and is configured such that the height of the stack across the extension is approximately equal. The sensor arrangement has a pressure sensor. The pressure sensor is configured for detecting a pressure force acting in the stack direction on the pouch cells.

A battery is provided including an anode, a cathode and an electrolyte; wherein the electrolyte includes one or both of fluoro ethylene carbonate and difluoro ethylene carbonate in an amount of 0.5% by mass or more and 10% by mass or less, wherein the anode includes an anode active material layer provided on an anode current collector, and wherein a thickness of the anode active material layer, after charging the battery, is 58 um or more and 75 um or less.

The present application provides a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery that includes, a cathode capable of being electrochemically doped/dedoped with lithium, an anode capable of being electrochemically doped/dedoped with lithium, and an electrolyte placed between the cathode and the anode, wherein the electrolyte contains at least one of fluoro ethylene carbonate represented by Chemical Formula (1) and difluoro ethylene carbonate represented by Chemical Formula (2) as a solvent and the ratio of a discharge capacity B during discharging at a 5C rate to a discharge capacity A during discharging at a 0.2C rate ((B/A)&#xd7;100) is 80% or more.

A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided. The nonaqueous electrolyte battery includes an anode; a cathode; a separator; an electrolytic solution including a solvent and an electrolyte salt; wherein the solvent includes a fluoro ethylene carbonate, wherein the nonaqueous electrolyte battery has a discharge capacity ratio of a discharge capacity B when discharging at a 5 C rate to a discharge capacity A when discharging at a 0.2 C rate ((B/A)&#xd7;100%), and wherein the discharge capacity ratio is 80% or more. An electrical apparatus including a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is also provided.
