A surface mount inductor includes a coil including a wound portion and a feeder end portion drawn out from the wound portion, a compact that contains a magnetic powder and that encapsulates the coil, and an external terminal disposed on the compact and connected to the coil. The compact has surfaces including two pressed surfaces, opposing each other in a direction of an axis of the wound portion and formed by being pressed in the direction of the axis, and a non-pressed surface, adjacent to the two surfaces and not pressed. The coil is disposed so that the axis of the wound portion is parallel to a mount surface of the compact. The mount surface is included in the non-pressed surface, the feeder end portion is exposed from the mount surface, and the external terminal is formed on only the non-pressed surface and connected to the feeder end portion.

Surface mount inductor and method for manufacturing the same

A surface mount inductor includes a coil buried in a composite material including a magnetic powder; outer terminals connected to the coil; and a molded body having a metal surface that intersects a winding axis of the coil and including the composite material. A surface mount inductor manufacturing method includes arranging, inside a mold, a metal plate having a shape covering part of a surface of a molded body; arranging a coil and a composite material including a magnetic powder or a preliminary molded body composed of the composite material inside the mold in which the metal plate has been arranged; and forming a molded body in which the coil is buried and that has the metal plate arranged on part of a surface of the molded body by molding the metal plate, the composite material, and the coil inside the mold to be integrated with each other.

Surface mount inductor and method of manufacturing surface mount inductor

A surface mount inductor includes a coil including a conducting wire winding portion with both ends on the outer circumference and a pair of extension portions that extend from the outer circumference, a molded body containing a metal magnetic powder and the coil embedded, and a pair of outer terminals disposed on the molded body and connected to the extension portions. The molded body has principal surfaces, end surfaces, and side surfaces. One principal surface serves as a mounting surface including a recessed portion with an elevated region and a lowered region. The coil is embedded in the molded body with the winding axis of the winding portion parallel to the recessed portion, and the pair of extension portions extend from the outer circumference toward the mounting surface to be exposed at the lowered region and connected to the pair of outer terminals in the lowered region.

Surface mount inductor

An electronic component including: a body having a shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, the body including a first end surface and a second end surface opposed to each other and a mounting surface; and a first external electrode provided on the first end surface and the mounting surface. A first portion of the first end surface inclines from a direction normal to the mounting surface so as to come closer to the second end surface with decreasing distance from the mounting surface in the normal direction, the first portion being a portion within a predetermined distance from the mounting surface in the normal direction. A thickness of a portion of the first external electrode contacting the first portion becomes greater with decreasing distance from the mounting surface in the normal direction.

Electronic component and method for producing the same

An electronic component includes a body made of a material containing particles of a metallic magnetic material, and an outer electrode disposed on a surface of the body. The surface of the body has a contact portion with which the outer electrode is in contact, and the surface of the body includes particles of the metallic magnetic material which are exposed from the surface of the body.

Electronic component and method of manufacturing the same

The electric circuit includes a first inductor and a third inductor that, when viewed in plan view from a first direction, wind around a first axis extending in the first direction, and a second inductor that, when viewed in plan view from the first direction, winds around a second axis extending in the first direction. A second region where the second inductor is provided overlaps, in the first direction, with a first region where the first inductor is provided or a third region where the third inductor is provided. When a common mode signal is inputted to the first inductor to third inductor, the orientation of a magnetic field produced in the first axis by the first inductor and the third inductor is opposite from the orientation of a magnetic field produced in the second axis by the second inductor.

Electric circuit

An electronic component includes a body and a coil. The body includes first to fourth insulator layers composed of an anisotropic magnetic material, an internal magnetic circuit composed of an isotropic magnetic material and an external magnetic circuit composed of an isotropic magnetic material. The second and third insulator layers cover an upper surface and a lower surface of the coil from a z-axis direction. The internal magnetic circuit and the external magnetic circuit are adjacent to each other in a direction orthogonal to the z-axis direction. In addition, a direction of easy magnetization of the anisotropic magnetic material used in the first to fourth insulator layers is orthogonal to the z-axis direction.

Electronic component

An electronic component includes a main body formed from an insulative material, coil conductors, outer electrodes provided on a surface of the main body, and outer pads. Each coil conductor is constituted by a spiral-shaped coil portion and a lead portion connected to the coil portion and extending linearly. The outer pads connect the lead portions to the outer electrodes. At a contact point that connects one of the coil portions to their corresponding one of the lead portions, an angle formed by the coil portion and the lead portion is an obtuse angle.

Electronic component and common mode choke coil

In an inductor component, fallen-off-filler marks that are formed as a result of a filler falling off from an outer surface of a component body are present in a dotted manner in portions of the outer surface that are in contact with outer electrodes. As a result of the filler falling off, a joining area at interfaces between the component body and the outer electrodes increases, and stress generated at the interfaces between the component body and the outer electrodes is reduced.

Inductor component and method for manufacturing the same

An electronic component includes a first magnetic substrate provided with a first notch portion and a second notch portion, a multilayer body, a coil which includes a coil portion, a first lead portion, and a second lead portion. The first lead portion and the second lead portion are connected to the two end portions of the coil portion and overlap the first notch portion and the second notch portion, respectively. The electronic component further includes a first outer electrode and a second outer electrode, a first connection portion and a second connection portion which connect the outer electrodes to the lead portions. Particles are disposed at joint portions of the lead portions and the connection portions and have a coefficient of linear expansion smaller than the coefficients of linear expansion of the first lead portion, the second lead portion, the first connection portion, and the second connection portion.
