A deformation inhibiting device for inhibiting deformation of a fuel tank includes a strut member. The strut member includes a bottom support portion and a top support portion configured to support a bottom wall portion and a top wall portion, respectively, of the fuel tank when the strut member is disposed within the fuel tank. The strut member is deformable or movable between an arrangement state for arrangement within the fuel tank and an insertion enabled state configured to be inserted into the fuel tank via the opening.

A fuel property sensor including a substrate, a first lead wire, a second lead wire, a wiring member, and a determiner. The substrate is disposed in such a position as to be in contact with the fuel. The first lead wire is connected to the substrate. The second lead wire is connected to the substrate. The second lead wire is spaced from the first lead wire. The wiring member is provided on the substrate. The wiring member connects the first lead wire and the second lead wire. The wiring member is configured to electrically disconnect the first lead wire and the second lead wire from each other by reaction with impurities contained in the fuel. The determiner is configured to determine whether the first lead wire and the second lead wire are electrically connected.

Fuel property sensor

A measuring device may be provided with a cover configured to close an opening provided on a fuel tank; a plug configured to close a through hole provided on the cover; and a sensor configured to measure a property of fuel inside the fuel tank. The plug may be provided with an electrical connector and a fuel passage. The electrical connector may be configured to electrically connect inside and outside of the fuel tank. The electrical connector may pierce through the plug from an upper surface to a lower surface of the plug The fuel passage may include an inlet configured to open to the inside of the fuel tank to receive the fuel from the inside of the fuel tank. The sensor may be disposed in the fuel passage of the plug.

Measuring device for measuring property of fuel inside fuel tank

A liquid level detector may include a rotator fixed to an arm, a magnet fixed to the rotator, and a supporter rotatably supporting the rotator. The supporter may include a body, and an outer circumference wall disposed along a rotation direction of the arm on an outer circumference side of the magnet. The rotator may include a cover covering an end part of the outer circumference wall, and an opposing wall opposing at least one of an inner circumference surface and an outer circumference surface of the outer circumference wall. A first clearance between the supporter and the magnet may communicate with an outer space via a second clearance between the outer circumference wall and the cover and a third clearance between the outer circumference wall and the opposing wall. The first clearance may be larger than at least one of the second clearance and the third clearance.

Liquid level detector

A liquid level detector may comprise an arm attached to a float, a rotator fixed to the arm, a magnet fixed to the rotator, a supporter rotatably supporting the rotator. The supporter may comprise a body housing a magnetic sensor and opposing the magnet with a clearance, a supporting portion disposed along a rotation direction of the arm on an outer circumference side of the magnet and projecting from the body toward the rotator, and a flange portion projecting from the supporting portion along an outer circumference direction at a position spaced from the body in a rotational axial direction of the arm. The rotator may comprise an engaging portion slidably disposed relative to the flange portion along the rotation direction of the arm and engaging the flange portion so as to regulate a motion of the arm in the rotational axial direction.

A fuel tank includes a tank main body having an opening, a pump unit mounted to a mounting position on a bottom of the tank main body through the opening and having a fuel pump and a pump retaining member retaining the fuel pump and, and a guide means configured to guide the pump unit from an opening side of the tank main body to the mounting position on a bottom side of the tank main body. The guide means includes a guide rail provided on the tank main body and a slider provided on the pump unit. The slider is configured to be slidably engaged with the guide rail.

Fuel tank

A liquid amount measuring deviceincludes a plurality of detectorsarranged within a vessel, each of the plurality of detectors being configured to output a first analog signal, and an output circuitconfigured to output an analog detection signal corresponding to an amount of the liquid stored in the vessel based on the first analog signals outputted by the detectors. Each of the detectorsincludes a float; an arm memberconfigured to convert a vertical motion of the floatto a rotational motion; and a magnetic sensorconfigured to output a second analog signal corresponding to the rotational motion of the arm member. The output circuitis configured to correct the first analog signals outputted from the detectorsand add the corrected first analog signals so as to output the analog detection signal.

Liquid amount measuring device

A fuel supply system for an internal combustion engine includes a heat exchanger that has a heat exchanging wall between a liquefied fuel passage and an engine coolant passage. Heated and vaporized fuel flowing out from the liquefied fuel passage of the heat exchanger is supplied to the internal combustion engine. A flow rate of liquefied fuel supplied to the liquefied fuel passage of the heat exchanger is set. A flow rate of engine coolant supplied to the engine coolant passage of the heat exchanger is determined on the basis of a temperature of the engine coolant supplied to the engine coolant passage of the heat exchanger such that nucleate boiling or transition boiling of the liquefied fuel in the set flow rate occurs near a boundary between nucleate boiling and transition boiling in the liquefied fuel passage.

Fuel supply system and fuel supply method for internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine system having a fuel tank for storing fuel to be supplied to an engine and an exhaust passage in which exhaust gas is to be exhausted from the engine, wherein the internal combustion engine system includes: a closing member to close the exhaust passage; an exhaust gas introduction passage connecting the exhaust passage and the fuel tank; and a controller configured to close the exhaust passage by the closing member after the engine is stopped to store the exhaust gas in the exhaust passage and to introduce the exhaust gas stored in the exhaust passage into the fuel tank via the exhaust gas introduction passage.

Internal combustion engine system and method for controlling internal combustion engine system

A pressure control device controls a pressure of fuel supplied from a fuel tank to an engine via a fuel pump. The pressure control device includes a valve device, a first force-applying device and a second force-applying device. The valve device is provided in a path of the fuel from the fuel pump to the engine and comprising a valve and a spring. The valve is movable in an opening direction and a closing direction for permitting and preventing flow of the fuel from the fuel pump to the engine, respectively. The spring applies a first force to the valve in the closing direction. The first force-applying device is operable to apply a second force to the valve in the opening direction depending on the pressure of the fuel supplied from the fuel pump. The second force-applying device is operable to apply a third force to the valve in the opening direction independently of the second force applied by the first force-applying device or independently of the pressure of the fuel used for the first force-applying device.

Pressure control device

A fuel pump is provided with a casing and a substantially disk-shaped impeller that can rotate within the casing. A group of concavities is formed in each surface of the impeller. The concavities forming the group are arranged in concentric circles with respect to the rotation axis of the impeller. A first groove is formed in a first inner surface of the casing and extends from an upstream end to a downstream end in an area that faces one group of concavities. A second groove is formed in a second inner surface of the casing and extends from an upstream end to a downstream end in an area that faces the other group of concavities. A seal portion is formed in at least one of the first and second inner surfaces of the casing and formed by one layer or a plurality of layers of thin film.

Fuel vapor processing apparatus

An apparatus for checking leakage from a fuel vapor processing apparatus includes an interrupting device capable of interrupting communication between a canister and a fuel tank when a pressure within the canister is negative and a pressure within the fuel tank is positive. A first pressure detecting device can detect the pressure within the canister or its equivalent. A second pressure detecting device can detect the pressure within the fuel tank or its equivalent.

A fuel supply apparatus according to the present invention includes vapor production determining means for determining whether or not the vapor of the fuel is producible, and control means (ECU) for operating a passage resistance adjusting means of a pressure adjusting mechanism to cause increase of the pressure of the fuel supplied to an injector insomuch as the production of the vapor is inhibited when the vapor production determining means has determined a vapor producible condition.
