Provided is a driving support device () including a control device which has an acceleration suppression function of suppressing acceleration of an own vehicle when the own vehicle is determined to be positioned in a parking area (PA) including a parking spot row (PSA) and an erroneous depression operation is determined to be executed on an accelerator pedal (AP). The control device predicts a trajectory (T) of the own vehicle in a case in which the own vehicle travels when a speed (vs) of the own vehicle is equal to or higher than a predetermined speed, and further predicts a time (Δt) required for the own vehicle to reach a point at which the trajectory (T) and the parking spot row (PSA) intersect with each other. The control device determines that the own vehicle is positioned in the parking area (PA) when the predicted time (Δt) is equal to or shorter than a predetermined time. When the speed (vs) of the own vehicle is lower than the predetermined speed or the own vehicle is stopped, the control device determines that the own vehicle is positioned in the parking area (PA) in a case in which a determination target region (A), which has a predetermined length, extends from the own vehicle toward a traveling direction, and is defined in accordance with a turning angle of the own vehicle, and the parking spot row (PSA) overlap each other.

Provided is an acceleration suppression apparatus having improved practicality. The acceleration suppression apparatus includes: an in-vehicle sensor () configured to acquire information relating to a position of an own vehicle and information relating to an operation of an operating element of the own vehicle to output the acquired information; and a parking assist ECU () configured to execute, based on the information acquired from the in-vehicle sensor (), acceleration suppression control for suppressing acceleration of the own vehicle by controlling at least one of a drive device () or a braking device () mounted on the own vehicle. The traveling condition is a condition for determining that the driver's vehicle is traveling. The erroneous acceleration operation precondition is a precondition for determining that an acceleration operation is erroneously performed. The acceleration operation is an operation performed by a driver of the driver's vehicle to request the acceleration of the driver's vehicle. The predetermined prohibition condition is based on a relationship between the driver's vehicle and an external environment of the driver's vehicle.

An object is to be able to accurately discriminate an object of a collision. A device has a collision detection to which are connected a pressure sensor that detects pressure within a pressure chamber, and a vehicle speed sensor that detects vehicle speed, and the collision detection determines effective mass of a collided object on the basis of an integrated value obtained by integrating, at a predetermined sectional integration width, detection results of the pressure sensor, and a converted vehicle speed signal obtained by subtracting a predetermined value &#x3b1; from a vehicle speed signal of the vehicle speed sensor by using a predetermined vehicle speed converting map or the like. Then, when the determined effective mass exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the collided object is discriminated as a pedestrian.
