A composite ceramic body and a method thereof are provided. The composite ceramic body comprising a first bonding body comprising a ceramic containing Si ingredient, and a second bonding body bonded to the first bonding body through a bonding material containing, as main ingredient, a Si compound which includes the element common to the Si ingredient contained in the first bonding body. The first and second bonding bodies can be bonded strongly and uniformly without any adhesive. Since the composite ceramic body has high bonding strength, it is applicable to microchemical chips and reformers.

A capacitor includes a base having a hollow or open portion in an upper surface for containing a battery element or an electric double layer capacitor element and an electrolytic solution in an inside thereof, a metallized layer formed to a periphery of the base defining the hollow or open portion in the upper surface and a frame member made of metal brazed to the metallized layer so as to surround the hollow or open portion. An inner lateral surface of the frame member is inclined outward, and a corrosion resistant layer is deposited so as to continuously cover the inclined surface and a portion of the surface of the metallized layer situated inward thereof.

Provided is a board for ion generation that is capable of generating negative ions with much better efficiency and in an amount larger than that of positive ions. In the board for ion generation, a discharge electrode is formed on one principal surface of a substrate formed of ceramics, an induction electrode is formed on another principal surface of the substrate, the discharge electrode and the induction electrode being disposed opposite to each other, a first protective layer and a second protective layer are formed so as to cover the discharge electrode and the induction electrode, respectively. Surface discharge is generated on a surface of the first protective layer by applying an AC voltage between the discharge electrode and induction electrode, and positive ions and negative ions are alternately generated in the air. In the board for ion generation, the porosity of the substrate is 5 to 10 vol. %.

A ceramic container includes a ceramic base having a hollow or open portion for accommodating a battery element or an electric double layer capacitor element, defined by a bottom portion and a side wall which surrounds a bottom surface of the bottom portion which bottom face faces the hollow or open portion, a ceramic coating layer formed on a periphery of the bottom face along an inner face of the side wall, a first metallized layer extending, on the bottom face, from a portion provided immediately under the side wall to an inside of an inner end of the ceramic coating layer via a portion provided immediately under the ceramic coating layer, and a conductive layer formed on the bottom face in order to cover an extended portion of the first metallized layer and the ceramic coating layer.

A multilayer substrate with inner capacitors comprising a dielectric layer sandwiched between upper and lower insulating layers, a couple of printed electrodes in desired patterns within the thickness of the dielectric layer so as to form each capacitor at the portion of the dielectric layer corresponding to the electrodes, and a couple of leading terminals on one surface of the insulating layer, which communicate with the electrodes, the multilayer substrate being characterized in that the dielectric layer is composed of a ceramic composition mainly comprising MTiO.sub.3 -based ceramics (M represents one or several of Ba, Ca, Mg, La, Sr and Nd) and the insulating layer is composed of a ceramic composition mainly comprising MgO-SiO.sub.2 -CaO-based ceramics, which is defined by an area surrounded by the lines connecting points A, B, C, D, E, F and G as shown in FIG. 1 and listed below, wherein X, Y and Z respectively represent weight percent values of MgO, SiO.sub.2 and CaO at points A, B, C, D, E, F and G.
