A system includes a secure module structured to prevent information stored therein from being externally referenced; and an information processing apparatus configured to enable communication with the secure module. The information processing apparatus includes a first computer configured to execute a first verification process of verifying whether an application under execution by the information processing apparatus is in a secure state. The secure module includes a second computer, and a storage unit configured to store at least any one among a first feature amount obtained by extracting a feature of execution code of the first verification process, and execution code of an authentication process of authenticating the first verification process. The second computer is configured to execute a second verification process of verifying whether the first verification process under execution by the first computer is in a secure state, based on stored contents of the storage unit.

A secure module includes a generating unit that executes generation processing of generating a scanning program that causes scan processing, which generates unique code for a program under test, to be executed at a connected device and further executes update processing of randomly updating contents of the scanning program; a storage device storing therein the unique code for the program under test; and an authenticating unit that if the scanning program is executed by the connected device and executed with respect to the program under test stored at a designated storage area in the connected device, authenticates validity of the program under test stored at the designated storage area, based on the unique code stored in the storage device and execution results of the scanning program executed at the connected device.

Secure module and information processing apparatus

An information processing apparatus securely stores a program group comprising one or more programs and includes a first detector that detects an execution waiting state of a given program among the program group; a secure module that is configured such that information stored therein cannot be referred to by an external device, and when the execution waiting state is detected by the first detector, that encrypts the given program and writes the encrypted given program to a storage area that is different from that of the program group; a second detector that detects an execution request concerning the given program; a decrypter that decrypts the given program encrypted by the secure module and writes the decrypted given program to the storage area, when the execution request concerning the given program is detected by the second detector; and a program executor that executes the given program decrypted by the decrypter.

An information processing apparatus capable of effectively preventing unauthorized use of content distributed through a network when playing the content. The information processing apparatus includes a tamper-resistant secure module, a receiving block, and a playback block. The secure module includes a key storage block for storing a decryption key, a decryption block, and an encryption block. The receiving block receives distribution data distributed through the network and transfers the data to the decryption block. The decryption block decrypts the distribution data to obtain content by using the decryption key. The encryption block divides the content to a plurality of split pieces of content and encrypts them by using a temporary encryption key. Information on a temporary decryption key is output each time the temporary encryption key is changed. The playback block decrypts the encrypted pieces of content by using the temporary decryption key and combines and plays them.
