Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for a wireless device with dual subscriptions to prioritize a subscriber. A user equipment (UE) may configure a first channel for a first subscription and a second channel for a second subscription. The UE may determine one or more slots for the first subscription for communicating in a first direction and for the second subscription for communicating in a second direction, where the first and second directions are different. The UE may prioritize communications of the first subscription according to the determined slots. The prioritizing may be based on the direction, whether the communications are scheduled or configured, or whether the slot includes a monitoring occasion. The UE may communicate in the first direction according to the first subscription.

Subscriber prioritization for devices with dual subscriptions

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product are provided. The apparatus may be a UE configured to receive from a base station access parameters corresponding to respective types of access controls for different types of data services, receive a TFT established at a core network based on mapping a packet filter to access control information for each type of access control, receive a data packet from an application, match the data packet to the packet filter to determine access control information corresponding to the data packet, and establish communication for the data packet based on access parameters for the determined access control information. Alternatively, the apparatus may be policy server configured to receive a request for traffic control regarding data being communicated to an application server, determine a policy update for the application server based on the request, and transmit the policy update to a UE.

Packet filter based access control

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in which user equipment performs a circuit-switched fallback procedure to connect to a CDMA2000 network. The CDMA2000 network may be selected by the UE or by the network. A plurality of PLMN IDs may be maintained, where the IDs relate to a network that includes an LTE RAN. Each PLMN ID may be associated with a CDMA2000 network sharing the LTE RAN. A CDMA2000 network may be selected for circuit-switched fallback of a user equipment operating in the LTE RAN. The user equipment may be configured to perform a circuit-switched fallback procedure on the selected CDMA2000 network. The CDMA2000 network may be selected by a mobility management entity responsive to a PLMN selection procedure. The PLMN selection procedure may be performed when the UE reports multiple-operator capability.

Method and apparatus for LTE radio access network sharing

In a 3GPP2 Converged Access Network (CAN), IPv6 stateless auto configuration can be used to configure an IPv6 address of an access terminal (AT) for Simple IPv6 operation. A domain name system (DNS) update is triggered by IPv6 Neighbor Advertisement addresses a need for a DNS update when the full IPv6 address (128 bits) has not yet been sent in IPv6 packets from the AT. Upon receipt of the full address in response to the IPv6 Neighbor Advertisement, provision is made for prompting this DNS update even when the requesting network entity (e.g., access gateway (AGW) or home agent (HA)) does not have security authentication with a responsible home DNS server by utilizing access to an authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) function, perhaps via a local visited AAA, to submit an Accounting Request (Start) message that prompts the home DNS server to perform the DNS update.

Method and apparatus for DNS update triggered IPv6 neighbor advertisement

Access control techniques enable an access terminal to obtain service through an access point. In some aspects, access control techniques may be used to enable a user (e.g., an owner) of an access point to control whether an access terminal obtains service through the access point. For example, a user may temporarily disable access control at an access point to enable access points that register with the access point while access control is disabled to thereafter be allowed to obtain service through the access point. As another example, a shared secret may be provided to an access terminal whereby, upon presenting the shared secret to an access point, the access terminal is allowed to obtain service through the access point.

Controller and method for Handover (HO) based 1&#xd7;CSFB communicates Calling Party Number (CPN) to User Equipment (UE) a in a cellular communication system. A first solution provides Interworking Solution (IWS) adding CPN sent to target Base Station Controller (BSC) via Mobile Switching Center (MSC) in Interoperability Specification (IOS) HO messages. A second solution provides that IWS sends CPN with Air Interface HO message and stores the CPN until UE transition to the target Radio Access Network and acquires a traffic channel. A third solution provides that IWS receives CPN from MSC with a paging message and stores the CPN until UE transition to the target Radio Access Network and acquires a traffic channel. A fourth solution provides sending AWI message to the target Radio Access Network from the MSC. A fifth solution provides that IWS sends CPN via Feature Notification Message (FNM) data tunneled to UE before the paging message to let user decide whether to accept a call before leaving 3G/4G cellular communication.

Methods and apparatus for calling party number display solutions for 1xCSFB

Systems, methods and apparatus described herein include features that enable dual radio access. In one embodiment, the access point directs an access terminal through sequential measurements, which are selected by the access point based on the radio access capability of the access terminal, service preferences of the user and measurement reports. In a complementary method, an access terminal obtains the sequential measurements chosen by the access point. In another embodiment, the access point directs an access terminal through a set of measurements, which are selected by the access point based on the radio access capability of the access terminal and service preferences of the user. In another embodiment, an access terminal selects which subset of measurements to obtain based on the radio access capability of the access terminal and optionally service preferences of the user.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in which a system for optimizing pilot search window size selection for inter RAT handovers is implemented. An IWS may receive a message including at least one measurement value for each 1x pilot PN in a 1x network, obtained from measurements requested by an eNB and performed by a UE. The IWS may select one or more parameters for pilot search based on the at least one measurement value for the UE to use for pilot searching in the 1x network. Further the IWS may transmit the selected one or more parameters for pilot search to the UE for pilot searching in the 1x network.

Method and apparatus for window size selection to optimize inter rat handover

A communication session between a node seeking network access and a NAS (Network Access Server) is established by having only few exchanges of messages. Upon detecting a physical link between the node and the NAS, the NAS immediately sends an authentication request message to the node. In response, the node sends a request message which includes all parameters options, in addition to responding to the authentication request message, for link configuration and network access control. The NAS then picks and chooses the parameter options and sends back the selected options in a reply message to the node. If the selected options in the reply message meet a threshold, the node straightforwardly transmits user data for network access via the NAS.

Radio access interworking technologies allow a target network to notify a source network that a mobile device has moved from source network to target network, wherein mobile device does not need to perform notification to source network. Further, source network can provide a first subset of overhead information to mobile device and, after moving to target network, mobile device can receive a second subset of overhead information from target network. Further, mobile device can perform prehashing prior to moving to target network based on a channel list received from source network.

Aspects describe conveying optional network signaled values that can be utilized for communication in a communications environment. A method that includes generating a first network signaled value and a second network signaled value and transmitting first network signaled value and second network signaled value to at least one mobile device is provided. A communications apparatus, comprising a memory that retains instructions related to obtaining a first network signaled value and a second network signaled value from an access point and applying first network signaled value or second network signaled value for communication in a network as a function of a priority is also provided. Also provided are optional network signaled values that can be utilized separately from a mandatory network signaled value.

Support for optional system parameter values

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided for reducing the amount of time for sending a measurement report message, such as a Pilot Strength Measurement Message (PSMM), after sending a completion message in wireless communication. A first radio access technology is monitored, and an indication is received on a second radio access technology. Before a transfer is made to the second radio access technology based on the indication, a UE receives neighbor information for the second radio access technology via the first radio access technology. Thereafter, a transfer is performed to transfer the UE from the first radio access technology to the second radio access technology.
