A recording device includes a recording head including a nozzle row configured to discharge ink droplets that are to be cured when irradiated with light onto a recording medium, a drive unit configured to cause the recording head and the recording medium to move relative to each other, a plurality of irradiation parts configured to irradiate the recording medium with the light, a reception unit configured to receive an input of irradiation range data indicating an irradiation range of the light, and a control unit configured to control turning ON and OFF of the plurality of irradiation parts, to irradiate the recording medium with the light in accordance with the irradiation range, based on the irradiation range data.

Recording device, recording system, and recording method for recording using curable ink

A printing apparatus includes a first head and a second head provided in different positions in a sub-scanning direction. The printing apparatus performs, using the second head without using the first head, formation of an image in a third region present on a lower end side from a second region. A rate of use of the first head to the second head has a tendency of decreasing from an upper end side toward the lower end side in the sub-scanning direction in the second region.

Printing apparatus and print producing method

A printing device is provided and includes: a head unit and a controller. The head unit performs a main scan operation corresponding to each of a predetermined N-number of printing passes (N is an integer of three or greater) on a same area of a medium in a multi-pass mode, and the controller sets a density of printing to be performed in a k-number of last printing passes (k is an integer which is equal to or greater than 1 and is less than N), so as to be lower than a density of printing to be performed in the (N&#x2212;k)-th printing pass, and sets a density of printing to be performed by a plurality of individual nozzles of the nozzle row of the head unit for ejecting ink drops in the (N&#x2212;k+1)-th printing pass, so as to gradually decrease toward a head rear end side.

Printing device and printing method

In an ink filling method according to the present invention, a suction arrangement having a pump is air-tightly coupled to a head unit having a plurality of ink supply ports, and sucking is performed by using the pump, thereby supplying an ink stored in an ink supply source to a plurality of the ink supply ports via a flow channel arrangement including one ink flow channel that communicates with the ink supply source and a plurality of branched flow channels that branch out from the ink flow channel and communicate with corresponding ones of the ink supply ports. The sucking is stopped from a time point when one of the branched flow channels is entirely filled with the ink until air in the flow channel arrangement moves in a branching portion, and the sucking is resumed when the air has moved in the branching portion.
