A display control device includes: at least one display, among a plurality of displays, that displays a message; storage that stores a first table for displaying the message; and a processing unit that determines, when information about a vehicle is generated and a display is present in an eye-gaze direction of the user that an eye-gaze detector detects, whether to cause the display to display the message, based on the first table and the eye-gaze direction detected, the display being one of the plurality of displays.

The display control device includes a controller that controls a first display and a second display to control displaying of first information and second information. The controller obtains gaze information indicating a driver's gaze, and the driver's gaze indicated by the gaze information is directed at neither the first display nor the second display. In the situation, if a second event further occurs while the first display is displaying the first information because of the occurrence of a first event, the controller changes the display position of the second information to display the second information on the first display. In the situation, if the first event further occurs while the second display is displaying the second information because of the occurrence of the second event, the controller changes the display position of the first information to display the first information on the second display.

A control method is performed by an information display system displaying information on one or more display units included in a vehicle. The information display system executes guidance processing for guiding a line of sight of a driver of the vehicle toward a display unit which is not in the line of sight. The control method including: obtaining vicinity information indicating a state of vicinity of the vehicle from a device outside the vehicle; determining whether or not the driver should pay more attention to the state of the vicinity indicated in the vicinity information than the information displayed on the one or more display units; and executing control for suppressing the guidance processing when it is determined that the driver should pay more attention to the state of the vicinity than the information displayed on the one or more display units.

Control method and information display system

A safety confirmation support system includes: a moving object detector which detects a moving object in each of detection regions set around the vehicle; display units each associated with a different one of the detection regions; a line-of-sight detector which detects a line of sight of the driver; and a display controller which controls the display units based on detection results from the moving object detector and the line-of-sight detector. When the moving object is detected in a specified detection region, the display controller (i) displays moving object information on a specified display unit associated with the specified detection region when the line of sight is away from the specified detection region, and (ii) stops display of the moving object information on the specified display unit when the line of sight is towards the specified detection region while the moving object information is displayed on the specified display unit.
