Silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material, phenidone compound for use therein, and method of producing the same

Silver halide photographic material and hydroxamic acid-based compounds used therefor

There is disclosed a silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material that is improved in such aspects as fastness of dye images, color reproduction, cyan stain, processing cyan color contamination, and the like, by the combination use of a phenidone compound having a specific structure as in the following general formula (VIII) and a pyrrolotriazole cyan coupler. The phenidone compound (VIII) can be produced industrially in low cost, by reacting an &agr;-alkyl or alkenyl acrylate with a compound represented by the following general formula (VII):

A silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having thereon one or more layers including at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer comprising at least one coupler which undergoes a coupling reaction with an oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine developer to form a dye, wherein at least one of the layer(s) on said support comprises at least one compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a linear or branched unsubstituted alkenyl group having 3-14 carbon atoms, R.sup.2 represents an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a linear or branched unsubstituted alkenyl group having 3-14 carbon atoms, R.sup.3 represents a group capable of being substituted on the benzene ring, and m represents an integer from 1 to 4. This may be use as a light-sensitive material which can provide a stable color-image.

A silver halide color photographic material comprising a support having provided thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer, wherein the silver halide color photographic material contains a coupler represented by formula (1) shown below and a non-color forming colorless carboxylic acid compound having a diffusion-resistant group or a salt thereof: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents an alkyl group or an aryl group; R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; Z represents a non-metallic atomic group necessary to form a saturated ring; R.sup.6 represents a substituent; X represents a heterocyclic group, a substituted amino group or an aryl group and Y represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon color development. The silver halide color photographic material has an excellent color forming property to provide a color image of high maximum color density and good color reproducibility.

A sliver halide color photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having provided thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing at least one cyan dye forming coupler represented by the formula (1) shown below, at least one compound represented by the formula (A) shown below and at least one compound represented by the formula (D) shown below: ##STR1## wherein Z.sup.a and Z.sup.b each represents --C(R.sup.3).dbd. or --N=, provided that one of Z.sup.a and Z.sup.b is --N= and the other is --C(R.sup.3).dbd.; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each represents an electron attractive group having a Hammett's substituent constant .sigma..sub.p value of 0.20 or more and the sum of the .sigma..sub.p values of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is 0.65 or more; R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom or a substituent; X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon a coupling reaction with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent; and group represented by R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3 or X may be a divalent group to form a dimer or more, or combine with a polymer chain to form a homopolymer or a copolymer; ##STR2## The silver halide color photographic light-sensitive material provides color images excellent in color reproducibility and color image fastness.

A silver halide photographic material is described, which contains the compound represented by the following formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group having from 1 to 5 carbon atoms; X represents a water-soluble group; and R.sup.2 represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having the sum total of from 14 to 40 carbon atoms, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, an alkoxyl group, --NR.sup.3 R.sup.4 (R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 each independently represents an alkyl group having from 1 to 40 carbon atoms, a hydrogen atom, or an aryl group), a bicycloalkyl group, a bicycloalkenyl group, a cycloalkyl group, a cycloalkenyl group or a heterocyclic group, provided that when X represents a quaternary ammonium salt structure, R.sup.2 does not represent an alkyl group having from 14 to 17 carbon atoms.

Disclosed is an image forming method in which a light-sensitive element having at least three light-sensitive layers on a support is imagewisely exposed and the light-sensitive element is superposed on a processing element in the presence of water in an amount of from 0.1 to 1.0 times of the amount necessary for maximally swelling the total coated layers of the light-sensitive element and the processing element, and the both elements are heated to develop an image on the light-sensitive element. The formed image is outputted to a separate recording material. The developed light-sensitive element is superposed on a dye forming reaction inhibiting sheet and heated to stabilize the light-sensitive element.
