An impact-absorbing structure includes: a bumper face; a bumper beam; and an impact-absorbing member interposed to be compressively deformed between the exterior member and the movable-body-side rigid member. The movable-body-side rigid member, in an up-and-down direction of the movable-body-side rigid member, includes: a plurality of recesses recessed toward the movable body; and a protrusion protruding forward the movable body to be formed between the plurality of recesses. The plurality of recesses each have a vertical width gradually tapering toward the movable body, and the impact-absorbing member is fitted into at least two of the plurality of recesses.

Impact-absorbing structure

A bumper beam formed of fiber reinforced resin containing continuous fibers oriented at least in the vehicle width direction sufficiently absorbs the collision energy of a high-speed collision in the fiber reinforced resin. The bumper beam also has a center portion positioned in the center in the vehicle width direction and protruding outward in the front-back direction, and right and left outer portions inclined from the respective ends of the center portion seen in the vehicle width direction toward the inner side in the front-back direction. The outer portions each have a resin foam member protruding outward in front-back direction. Thus, at the time of a low speed collision, the resin foam member is crushed to absorb part of the collision energy so that the energy is absorbed and distributed over the center and outer portions, protecting the car body frame from deformation.

Vehicle bumper beam and method for manufacturing vehicle bumper beam

A vehicle body front section structure is provided with a sensor attachment structure to an outside face of a left bumper beam extension. The sensor attachment structure includes a support section provided on the outside face of the left bumper beam extension, and an airbag sensor attached to the support section. The support section deforms and retreats toward the vehicle body rear as a result of compression of the left bumper beam extension during compression of the left bumper beam extension due to an impact load input from the vehicle body front.

An automobile bumper is provided in which the bumper beam includes a middle curved part that curves concavely rearwards and a pair of left and right curved parts that curve convexly rearwards, and the left and right curved parts includes a rear side frame connecting part and a load input part projecting rearwards the most among the bumper beam parts. Since the bumper beam includes a compression-resistant reinforcing part provided along the inner face in the fore-and-aft direction of the load input part, and an extension line of the compression-resistant reinforcing part is directed toward the vicinity of the load input point of the load input part, supporting the compressive load by the compression-resistant reinforcing part to thus prevent the bumper beam from being destroyed enables the strength toward bending deformation to be enhanced without reinforcement by increasing the plate thickness of the bumper beam.

Automobile bumper

In a vehicle body front structure, a left shock absorbing member is provided at a front end portion of a left front side frame and a bumper beam is provided at a front end portion of the left shock absorbing member. A left recessed angle portion is formed by the left shock absorbing member and the bumper beam. An inner coupling member is disposed in the left recessed angle portion. The inner coupling member includes a first end portion and a second end portion. The first end portion is connected to the inner wall front portion with a spacing set between an intersection and the first end portion. Also, the second end portion is connected to the rear wall left portion with a spacing set between the intersection and the second end portion.

An automobile bumper beam to be disposed in a vehicle width direction includes: a small sectional area portion at a center in the vehicle width direction; paired sectional area changing portions continuous to outsides in the vehicle width direction of the small sectional area portion; and paired large sectional area portions continuous to outsides in the vehicle width direction of the sectional area changing portions. The small sectional area portion projects most outward in a front-rear direction at paired impact load input portions. Thus, impact load in minor collision is inputted as two-point concentrated load to the paired input portions of a bumper beam body, reducing a peak value of bending moment acting on the body, and the sectional area changing portions and large sectional area portions bear the moment, thereby enhancing strength of the body, reducing its thickness and weight, and achieving an excellent collision energy absorbing effect.

A collision load is appropriately absorbed even in a case that the collision load is intersectionally input from the oblique rear with respect to the vehicle longitudinal direction. Plural first to sixth corner portions provided at the rear end of an extension are arranged such as to be located at respective different positions along the vehicle longitudinal direction, wherein the first corner portion located at the vehicle transverse inner upper end is located the rearmost, and wherein the first to sixth corner portions and first to sixth edge lines, which form the rear end of the extension, are provided such as to be located at the rear in a spiral form from the first corner portion toward the vehicle front in order.

A vehicle body front structure is disclosed in which a cooling system component is provided to an upper beam and a lower beam of a front bulkhead. A vehicle body front structure comprises a left top support mechanism provided to the upper beam and a left bottom support mechanism provided to the upper beam. The left top support mechanism supports a left top part of the cooling system component, and supports the left top part of the cooling system component so as to allow the left top part to move toward the rear of the vehicle body. The left bottom support mechanism supports a left bottom part of the cooling system component, and supports the left bottom part of the cooling system component so as to allow the left bottom part to move toward the rear of the vehicle body.

Vehicle body front structure and manufacturing method thereof

A vehicle bumper includes a bumper beam, a bumper face and an energy-absorbing member provided between the bumper beam and the bumper face. The energy-absorbing member has an L-shaped cross-section and includes a head of a front upper portion protruding upward. A space is formed between the bumper beam and the head. When a collision load acts on the bumper face, the head is deformed toward the space, thus absorbing the impact energy.

An energy absorbing wiper system for a vehicle, including: a pivot shaft to which a wiper arm is fixed; a pivot shaft holder into which the pivot shaft is rotatably inserted; an impact absorbing portion provided between the pivot shaft and the pivot shaft holder, the impact absorbing portion being adapted to be broken or deformed when a certain load is applied thereto to thereby permit the movement of the pivot shaft in a sinking direction relative to the pivot shaft holder; and, an energy absorbing member interposed between the wiper arm and the pivot shaft holder, the energy absorbing member adapted to be broken or deformed while permitting the sink of the pivot shaft when the pivot shaft moves in the sinking direction after the impact absorbing portion has been broken or deformed, to thereby absorb the moving energy of the pivot shaft.
