A jet parameter generation system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a data acquisition section, and a parameter generation section for generating a predetermined jet parameter, using a predetermined analytical method of taking a predetermined input parameter as an explanatory variable and taking a predetermined jet parameter as an objective variable. The parameter generation section determines which one of a first standard for setting a voltage value with which a drop volume of the liquid to be a reference is obtained and a second standard for setting a voltage value with which an ejection speed of the liquid to be a reference is obtained is to be selected, selects a first explanatory variable group when determining to select the first standard, while selecting a second explanatory variable group when determined to select the second standard, and uses the predetermined analytical method using just selected one of the first explanatory variable group and the second explanatory variable group to thereby generate the predetermined jet parameter.

There are provided a head chip and so on capable of improving the print image quality. The head chip according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is provided with an actuator plate having a plurality of ejection grooves and a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzle holes individually communicated with the plurality of ejection grooves. The plurality of ejection grooves is arranged side by side so as to at least partially overlap each other along a predetermined direction. Further, the nozzle holes adjacent to each other along the predetermined direction out of the plurality of nozzle holes are arranged so as to be shifted from each other along an extending direction of the ejection grooves in the nozzle plate.

The head chip according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes an actuator plate having a plurality of ejection grooves and a plurality of electrodes, a nozzle plate having a plurality of nozzle holes, and a cover plate having a wall part, a first through hole, and a second through hole. The plurality of nozzle holes includes a plurality of first nozzle holes arranged so as to be shifted toward the first through hole, and a plurality of second nozzle holes arranged so as to be shifted toward the second through hole. In a first ejection groove communicated with the first nozzle hole, a first cross-sectional area of a part communicated with the first through hole is smaller than a second cross-sectional area of a part communicated with the second through hole. Positions of both ends of the electrode along the extending direction of the ejection grooves are each aligned in the plurality of electrodes along a predetermined direction.

Provided herein are a jet hole plate, a liquid jet head, a liquid jet recording apparatus, and a method for manufacturing a jet hole plate that can achieve a long life. A jet hole plate according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a jet hole plate for use in a liquid jet head. The jet hole plate includes a metal substrate having provided therein a plurality of jet holes. The metal substrate has a principal surface having outlets for the jet holes. The principal surface has a surface roughness (arithmetic mean roughness Ra) that is smaller in outlet edge regions of the jet holes than in surrounding regions around the outlet edge regions.

A jet hole plate according to an embodiment of the present disclosure is a jet hole plate for use in a liquid jet head. The jet hole plate includes a metal substrate provided with a plurality of jet holes. In the metal substrate, an average crystal grain size in outlet edges of the jet holes is smaller than that in surrounding regions around the outlet edges.

A head gimbal assembly has a suspension configured to extend along a surface of a recording medium and to bend and deform in a thickness direction of the recording medium. A slider is provided on a front end side of the suspension so as to confront the surface of the recording medium. A support section supports the slider such that the slider can pivot about two axes parallel to the surface of the recording medium and perpendicular to each other. An optical waveguide is connected to the slider and is configured to introduce a light flux into the slider. A near-field light generating element generates near-field light from the optical flux and causes the near-field light to record information on the recording medium. A positioning section is mounted between the support section and the slider for positioning the optical waveguide relative to the slider.

A magnetic recording medium in which information can be recorded using a heat-assisted magnetic recording method comprises a recording layer formed on a substrate. The recording layer has a plurality of magnetic recording bit regions and a plurality of high thermal conductors each extending inside a corresponding one of the bit regions. The high thermal conductors have a thermal conductivity higher than that of the recording layer and assist in dissipating heat energy imparted to the bit regions during the recording of information.

A near-field light head of the present invention includes: a slider disposed opposite to a surface of the magnetic recording medium; a recording element that includes a main magnetic pole generating the recording magnetic field and a subsidiary magnetic pole, the recording element being fixed to an apical surface of the slider so that the main magnetic pole and the subsidiary magnetic pole line up in a longitudinal direction of the slider in the state where the subsidiary magnetic pole is located at the apical surface of the slider; a near-field light generating element, fixed adjacently to the main magnetic pole in a state where another end side thereof is directed to the magnetic recording medium, that propagates the light flux introduced from one end side thereof toward the other end side to generate the near-field light, and radiates the near-field light from the other end side to the outside; and a light flux introducing device, fixed to the slider, that introduces the light flux from the one end side into the near-field light generating element. The near-field light generating element includes an inclined surface, which is inclined with respect to an optical axis of the light flux propagated through the inside thereof and is opposite to the main magnetic pole, in the other end side. A metallic film that increases light intensity of the near-field light to be increased is formed in the inclined surface.

A near-field light generating element has a core that propagates light flux from a light incident side to a light emission side while focusing the propagating light flux. A near-field light generating portion in the form of a metal film generates near-field light from the light flux. The core includes a first core, and a second core covering a side surface of the first core, and the core is formed in a polygonal shape when viewed from a Z direction. The metal film is placed on a side surface in the core, and is formed so that a width of an interface between the metal film and the core is narrower than a width of the side surface of the core.

A slider is mounted onto at least a part of the flexible substrate so as to oppose the surface of the recording medium, and is configured to generate near field light from an introduced light flux. An information recording and reproduction apparatus has a magnetic recording medium and a carriage that undergoes rotational movement about a pivot shaft and has a base portion and an arm portion extending from the base portion and along a surface of the medium. A light source that emits a light beam to heat the medium is mounted on the base portion and is disposed closer to the pivot shaft than the arm portion. The arm portion supports a slider confronting the surface of the medium and being configured to receive a light beam from the light source. The slider has an optical system which condenses the light beam and a spot light generating element which generates from the condensed light beam spot light that heats the medium for recording information on the medium while causing magnetization reversal by applying a recording magnetic field to the medium.
