A piezoelectric vibrating device and a piezoelectric vibrating piece including an excitation unit, a framing portion and a connecting portion are provided. The excitation unit includes a first side extending in a first direction and a second side extending in a second direction. The connecting portion has a thickness of a first thickness in a third direction perpendicular to the first direction and the second direction. The excitation unit includes a first region, a second region and a third region. The pair of excitation electrodes are disposed on the first region. The second region with the first thickness is directly connected to the connecting portion. The third region is disposed between the first region and the second region. The third region has a thickness in the third direction of a second thickness. The second region has a thickness in the third direction that is thicker than the second thickness.

Piezoelectric vibrating piece and piezoelectric device

A crystal device is provided, in which a peeling of a bonding material is prevented by using the bonding material having a thermal expansion coefficient which is between the coefficients in a first direction and a second direction of a bonding surface of a crystal element. A crystal device includes a rectangular crystal element formed with a crystal material that includes an excitation part and a frame surrounding the excitation part. The device further includes a rectangular base bonded to a principal surface of the frame, and a lid bonded to another principal surface of the frame; and the frame, the base and the lid have edges respectively along a first direction and a second direction intersecting with the first direction. The bonding material is applied having a thermal expansion coefficient that is between the coefficients in the first direction and second direction of the crystal element.

Crystal device

AT-cut quartz-crystal vibrating pieces and corresponding quartz-crystal devices are disclosed each having a vibrating portion surrounded by a frame portion across a through-slot configured to provide a wide vibrating portion. An exemplary vibrating piece has a quartz-crystal vibrating portion that vibrates when electrically energized, a frame portion surrounding the vibrating portion, and a through-slot defined between the vibrating portion and the frame portion. The through-slot includes a first through-slot extending in the X-axis direction along +Z'-edge of the vibrating portion, and a second through-slot extending in the X-axis direction along the &#x2212;Z&#x2032;-edge of the vibrating portion. The first through-slot has a different width than the second through-slot.

At-cut quartz-crystal vibrating pieces and devices, and methods for manufacturing same

A crystal device includes; a base, a framed crystal vibrating blank in which a mesa section is formed on an upper face end bonded to a seal path on an upper surface of the base via a low melting point glass layer or a resin adhesive layer, and a lid bonded to a seal path on an upper surface of the framed crystal vibrating blank via a low melting point glass layer or a resin adhesive layer. A pillow made of low melting point glass or a resin adhesive that suppresses vibration amplitude at the time of a drop impact of the framed crystal vibrating blank is formed on a rear surface of the lid simultaneously with the low melting point glass layer or the resin adhesive layer.

Crystal device and manufacturing method thereof

The quartz crystal device includes a container body having: a recess; a pair of holding terminals formed on an inner bottom surface of the recess; and a crystal blank, both principal surfaces of which are provided with excitation electrodes with lead-out electrodes extending from the pair of excitation electrodes toward both sides of one end of the crystal blank. Both sides of one end of the crystal blank are fixed to the holding terminals using a conductive adhesive. Pillow members are provided on the inner bottom surface of the recess at positions corresponding to corners on both sides of the other end of the crystal blank, and the two pillow members are independent of each other. Alternatively, each holding terminal includes a first region formed near the facing holding terminal and a second region having a greater thickness than the first region formed far from the facing holding terminal.

Quartz crystal device accomodating crystal blanks of multiple shapes and sizes

The present invention relates to a crystal unit in which rectangular excitation electrodes are formed on two main surfaces of a rectangular crystal piece, an extracting electrode extends from at least one corner portion at each of two end portions from each of the excitation electrodes, and one of the corner portions of the crystal piece from which each extracting electrode extends is affixed by an electrically conductive adhesive to a step portion of the board, wherein a cutaway portion is provided in a corner portion of each of the excitation electrodes corresponding to one corner portion of the crystal piece, to increase the distance from the corner portion of the crystal piece, and the cutaway portion is formed as either a straight line or a curve. This provides a crystal unit in which contact between the excitation electrodes of the crystal piece and the electrically conductive adhesive is prevented, enabling reliable resonance.
