A control device for controlling a rotary electrical machine functioning as a motor and as a power generator, the device being provided with a power conversion circuit serving to function as an inverter for supplying a drive current from a battery to the rotary electrical machine and as a rectifier for rectifying the power generation output of the rotary electrical machine and supplying the output to the battery; and being provided with a controller for controlling the conversion circuit so that three-phase armature coils of the rotary electrical machine are short-circuited when the battery is disconnected from the conversion circuit and the DC output voltage of the conversion circuit becomes excessive, after which, when the DC output voltage of the conversion circuit decreases to a set low voltage, the short circuit of one phase of the armature coil is released and only two phases are short-circuited.

A starter generator which includes a rotor having a cuplike-shaped rotor yoke and magnets attached to an inner periphery of the rotor yoke, a stator mounted on a stator bracket and a protecting cover covering said rotor and stator, in which a hermetically sealed casing is constituted by said protecting cover and stator bracket, wherein a plurality of fans are provided on an outer surface of a bottom wall portion of said rotor yoke, a plurality of vent holes are provided through said bottom wall portion, said plurality of fans constitute a centrifugal fan which draws out air inside the rotor yoke through said vent holes and sends the air to an outer periphery of the rotor yoke, and a guide surface which guides the air sent to the outer periphery of the rotor yoke to a space inside the rotor yoke is provided on the stator bracket.

An electric rotating machine which comprises: a magnet rotor which has a rotor yoke having a magnetic attachment surface extending in a peripheral direction, and multiple permanent magnets for constituting a magnetic field which are intermittently arranged in the peripheral direction of the rotor yoke and are attached on the magnetic attachment surface; and a stator in which armature coils are wound around an armature core having a magnetic pole portions opposed to magnetic poles of the magnet rotor, wherein a large number of grooves which extend in the peripheral direction of the rotor yoke are provided on the magnet attachment surface of the rotor yoke.

An output control device of a generation device including: a rectifier circuit that rectifies an output of an AC generator and applies the output across a battery; an inverter circuit provided between the battery and the generator; inverter control means for controlling the inverter circuit to convert a voltage across the battery into an AC control voltage and apply the voltage to an armature winding of the generator; and phase detection means for detecting a phase of a phase current flowing through the armature winding of the generator as a maximum output current phase, wherein the inverter control means is comprised to control a phase of the AC control voltage so as not to be delayed with respect to the maximum output current phase, and thus prevent a reduction in the output of the generator caused by an excessive delay of the phase of the AC control voltage.

A generating device that includes an AC/DC conversion unit having a rectifier circuit that rectifies an output of a magneto rotor and applies the output to a battery, and an inverter circuit that converts a voltage of the battery into an AC control voltage and applies the AC control voltage to an armature coil of the magneto generator, performs chopper control that controls switch elements of the inverter circuit so as to interrupt an output current of the magneto generator to control the output of the magneto generator when a rotational speed of the magneto generator is lower than a set speed, and performs drive control that applies the AC control voltage from the battery through the inverter circuit to the armature coil when the rotational speed becomes higher than the set speed, and changes a phase angle of the AC control voltage to control the output of the magneto generator.

Generating device having magneto generator

A rotor position determination device for determining a position of a rotor of a rotating electric machine relative to m-phase (m is an integer equal to or more than 2) armature coils, the rotating electric machine including a stator having the m-phase armature coils, and the rotor having a magnetic field, includes: transient current energizing means for performing, for each of the m-phase armature coils, a transient current energizing process for temporarily applying a DC voltage to the armature coil of each phase of the rotating electric machine to pass a transient current through the armature coil of each phase; and rotor position determination means for detecting the transient current passed through each of the m-phase armature coils and determining the position of the rotor relative to the m-phase armature coils from the detected transient currents.
