An image processing device includes: an image obtaining unit that obtains original images one by one from an original document on which image processing is to be performed by the image processing device; an output unit that outputs each of the original images obtained by the image obtaining unit; an information acquiring unit that acquires control information for controlling operations to be performed by the image processing device, the control information being extracted from a control image represented by a specific image in the original image obtained by the image obtaining unit; and a control unit that determines whether the control information acquired by the information acquiring unit requires an authentication, determines whether an output of the original image having the control information is restricted on the basis of a result of the authentication when the control information requires an authentication, restricts the output of the original image when the output is determined to be restricted, and controls the output unit to output the original image when the original image does not require an authentication or when the output of the original image is determined not to be restricted.

An image processor includes an image reading unit that reads source documents and converts read data into image data, an extracting unit that extracts password information and attribute information from the image data of each of the source documents read by the image reading unit, a password inputting unit that inputs the password information, a password determining unit that determines whether or not the password information inputted by the password inputting unit matches the password information extracted by the extracting unit, and a permitting unit that permits a source document to be subjected to image processing, if the attribute information of the source document is identical to the attribute information included in the source document of which the password determining unit has determined that there is a match between the inputted password information and the extracted password information.

An image forming apparatus includes: a generating unit that generates a control image representing control information to be used for controlling an operation that is performed by the image forming apparatus; a superimposing unit that superimposes the control image generated by the generating unit on a print image; and an output unit that outputs a superimposed image generated by the superimposing unit performing the superimposition. The control information is to be used for performing a control operation so that a document formed with pages having the superimposed image printed thereon is collectively processed, with the superimposed image representing the control information. The control information contains the total number of pages of the document and the page number of the corresponding page having the superimposed image printed thereon.
