A method for processing an organic solvent-containing air is disclosed. The method can be operated in spite of a rapid fluctuation of the concentration of the organic solvents in the air to be processed, specifically, the method does not increase the organic solvent content in the air to be emitted into the atmosphere after processing, even if the concentration of the organic solvents rapidly changes. The method comprises carrying out simultaneously and continuously an adsorbing-removing step, a regenerating step, and a combustion step, while mixing a purified air produced in the adsorbing-removing step with an exhaust gas from a combustion furnace produced in the combustion step, and decomposing the organic solvents in the mixture by oxidation.

Method for processing organic solvent-containing air

A method for processing an organic solvent-containing air capable of being operated in spite of a rapid fluctuation of the concentration of organic solvents in the air to be processed and capable of using a combustion furnace exhaust gas as an air for regenerating dehumidifying member is provided. The method comprises carrying out simultaneously and continuously a dehumidification step (a), an adsorption-removing step (b), an adsorbing member-regeneration step (c), a combustion step (d), and a dehumidifying member-regeneration step (e) comprising mixing the adsorption-treated air produced in the adsorbing-removing step (b) with a combustion furnace exhaust gas produced in the combustion step (d) to obtain a mixed gas, decomposing the organic solvents in the mixed gas by oxidation, and causing the resulting purified gas to flow through the dehumidifying member which has adsorbed moisture, thereby regenerating the dehumidifying member.

A dehumidifying system supplies a gas free of organic substances. The dehumidifying system includes a holding case, and a rotor rotatably held in the holding case and bearing an adsorbent. The interior of the holding case is divided into an adsorbing zone and a regenerating zone by partition plates attached to the holding case. A process gas is supplied into the adsorbing zone. The process gas processed in the adsorbing zone is supplied into an objective space. A regenerating gas is supplied into the regenerating zone to eliminate moisture and organic substances adsorbed by the adsorbent in the adsorbing zone from the adsorbent.

Dehumidification system and dehumidification method

A rotor and a sealing device for a rotary adsorber is disclosed. The rotor includes a rim, spokes, arc-shaped sectors, a calking material, and a thermal insulating seal. The spokes divides the rim into arc-shaped portions. The sectors are disposed in the rim and include a gas adsorptive element. The calking material is provided between each sector and one of the rim and the spoke. The thermal insulating seal covers end surfaces of the spokes and joint portions of the sectors. The sealing device includes a sealing material, a mounting plate, a connecting portion, a rod member, and a spring. The sealing material is slidably interposed between a partitioning frame of the rotary adsorber and the mounting plate. The connecting portion fixes the mounting plate to the partitioning frame. The rod member is fixed to the connecting portion. The spring is interposed between the sealing material and the connecting portion.

Dehumidifying material, dehumidifying element and manufacturing method therefor

A VOC concentrating apparatus includes a honeycomb rotor. In order to lower concentration at an exit of adsorption and at the same time to be able to regulate the amount of air flow introduced into a desorbing zone, independently from the amount of cooling air, there are disposed a cooling zone, desorbing zone and an adsorbing zone in the honeycomb rotor. The honeycomb rotor rotates and thus passes through the zones one after another. After gas to be treated has passed through the adsorbing zone, concentration of VOC in the gas is measured on the exit side by a concentration detector. The cooling air is divided by a damper for regulating the amount of air flow, after having entered the cooling zone, and a part thereof enters the desorbing zone through a heater. Further air coming out therefrom is heated again by a heater to enter the desorbing zone and concentrated gas is removed.

An adsorber comprising zeolite retained on structure of substantially inorganic fibers disposed in the exhaust gas stream of an engine. The invention has particular application to purification of exhaust gas streams of methanol fueled engines in combination with catalytic means for decomposing undesired organic matter from the exhaust gas stream. The adsorber adsorbs organic matter from the exhaust gas at relatively low exhaust gas temperatures at which the catalyst is of reduced effectiveness, and desorbs organic matter at elevated temperatures at which the catalyst is of heightened effectiveness.

An engine exhaust gas purifying device, and process, wherein the device provides a catalyst device for treating the exhaust gas, an adsorbing device for adsorbing materials from the exhaust gas and a heat exchanger. After passing through the adsorbing device, the gas passes through the low temperature side of the heat exchanger and then passes to the catalyst device.
