A riding mower comprises a raising and lowering mechanism (), the raising and lowering control lever (), and a PTO mechanism () operated by a clutch lever (). When the raising and lowering mechanism () reaches a predetermined height, a operatively connecting mechanism () transmits, to the raising and lowering control lever (), a return-to-neutral displacement for returning the raising and lowering control lever () to the neutral position, and transmits, to the clutch lever (), a disengaging displacement for returning the clutch lever () to the disengage position. A first adjusting operation member () adjusts a triggering displacement at which the raising and lowering displacement is transmitted to the raising and lowering control lever () as the return-to-neutral displacement. A second adjusting operation member () adjusts a triggering displacement at which the raising and lowering displacement is transmitted to the clutch lever () as the disengaging displacement.

Riding mower

A rear discharge type mower apparatus includes: a blade housing having a top plate, a front wall and at least one side wall and a first front guide plate and a second front guide plate. Each of the first and second front guide plates are located rearwardly of the front wall and have a shape extending substantially along a rotation path of a corresponding blade. The mower apparatus also includes a first auxiliary plate and a second auxiliary plate. A portion of the second auxiliary plate and the first auxiliary plate extend parallel to each other such that an opening that is opposed to a mowed grass discharge opening is formed by the rearward ends of the linear portion and the first auxiliary plate. The lower edges of the first and second auxiliary plates are closer to the top plate than the corresponding blade.

A rear discharge type mower apparatus comprising a blade housing having a top plate, a front wall and at least one side wall; a support shaft supported by the blade housing and extending vertically; a rotatable blade supported by the support shaft, a tip end of the blade forming a rotation path; and a guide plate located rearwardly of the front wall and having a shape extending along the rotation path of a corresponding blade, and forming an opening for ejecting cut grass rearwardly. The guide plate has a first end located in an upstream position with respect to a rotating direction of the corresponding blade, and a second end located in a downstream position with respect to the rotating direction of the corresponding blade; and an auxiliary plate extending from an area of the first end into inside the rotation path of the corresponding blade.

Rear discharge type mower apparatus

A coupling mechanism for connecting a working unit to a tractor body is disclosed which includes an engaging device and receiver brackets for coupling the working unit which is suspended from a lawn tractor body to links extending from the tractor body. The engaging device includes a first rod extending transversely from the links, a second cross rod spaced and parallel to the first cross rod, and a connecting device interconnecting the cross rods. Each receiver bracket includes a receiving groove for simultaneously receiving part of the first and second cross rods therein. The receiving groove includes a first groove portion having a length corresponding to a distance between the two cross rods, a second groove portion extending from the first groove portion in a direction substantially perpendicular thereto, and an opening to the exterior of the bracket. With this construction, the engaging device is not readily separable from the receiver brackets when the lawn tractor moves forward or backward. For disengagement, the second cross rod is slid through the second groove portion and out of each receiver bracket, then the first cross rod is slipped through the first and second groove portions and out of the receiver bracket.

Riding lawn tractor

A mower unit includes a plurality of blade mechanisms each having a blade and a blade shaft fixed to the blade for supporting the blade, pulleys and a belt for transmitting drive among the blade mechanisms, a plate-like support frame for interconnecting the blade mechanisms through intermediate members, a mower deck, and vibration proofing rubber elements disposed between the mower deck and the blade mechanisms.

A mower unit having a bevel gear mechanism includes an input shaft extending substantially horizontally; a first bevel gear mounted on the input shaft; an output shaft extending substantially vertically; a second bevel gear meshed with the first bevel gear and mounted on one end of the output shaft; a blade mounted on the other end of the output shaft; a blade housing coveting the blade and defining an opening for receiving the output shaft; a beating holder rotatably supporting the output shaft; a bevel gear case containing the first and second bevel gears; and a pair of fight and left support stays connected to the bevel gear case for mounting the bevel gear case to the blade housing. The bearing holder and support stays are interconnected by reamer bolts, with the blade housing interposed between flange surfaces formed on the beating holder and flange surfaces formed on the support stays. Soft metal packings are interposed between the flange surfaces of the support stays and upper surfaces of the blade housing.

Mower unit having a bevel gear mechanism

A mower unit includes a housing having a skirt portion extending toward the ground, and a covering wall surrounding a plurality of grass cutting blades to define spaces for mulching treatment. The covering wall includes peripheral wall members each curved along a locus of revolution of the blade and spaced from the skirt portion. The peripheral wall member includes a vertical portion descending toward the ground. The vertical portion and the skirt portion have lower ends thereof substantially at the same height over the ground. The blades are arranged transversely of the mower unit. The peripheral wall members are in the form of independent annular wall members provided for the blades, respectively. The annular wall members define spaces for mulching treatment substantially independent of one another. Alternatively, the peripheral wall members may be in the form of annular wall members corresponding to loci of revolution of the blades, respectively, and an adjacent pair of the annular wall members may have at least parts of peripheries overlapping each other. The parts of peripheries are cut so that the spaces of mulching treatment defined by the pair of annual wall members communicate with each other.

Mulching mower unit

A lawn mower comprises a vehicle body, a cutting unit mounted below the vehicle body, a grass catcher mounted rearwardly of the vehicle body, and a discharge duct extending between the cutting unit and the catcher for transmitting grass clippings from the cutting unit to the catcher. The catcher defines an opening at which a lid member is removably mounted, the lid member includes a coupler opening for coupling to a discharge opening of the discharge duct and an air vent around the coupler opening. The catcher is switchable between a sideways turned posture in which the coupler opening is coupled to the discharge opening and an upright posture in which the coupler opening is directed upwardly.
