A wheel braking controller of a vehicle includes a brake lever operated by a rider, a master cylinder generating a hydraulic pressure according to an operation force of the brake lever, and a brake caliper braking a front wheel based on operation of the brake lever, a channel switching unit provided between the master cylinder and the brake caliper and switching channels of a brake fluid. A hydraulic pressure generator generates a hydraulic pressure based on operation of the brake lever and the driving state of the vehicle and controlling braking of the front wheel using the brake caliper by the hydraulic pressure. A braking controller including the channel switching unit and the hydraulic pressure generator is integrally provided on one body. The wheel braking controller so configured reduces the number of parts, and provides for easy mounting of the controller on the vehicle body.

A braking system includes first pressure sensorswhich are provided to braking pipeswhich constitute first input-side pressure sensors for detecting a liquid pressure on a front-wheel-master-cylinder-side and a rear-wheel-master-cylinder-side, and second pressure sensorswhich are provided at positions closer to a stroke-simulator-side than second solenoid-operated valvesof braking pipeswhich constitute second input-side pressure sensors for detecting a liquid pressure on the stroke-simulator-side.

Braking system

A stroke simulator in a brake system includes a cylinder body, a piston movably inserted in the cylinder body, and a second elastic member adapted to be pressed by the piston. It functions to give a simulative operational feel to a brake lever by operating the brake lever to generate a fluid pressure in a front wheel master cylinder and transmit this fluid pressure to the cylinder body, thereby deforming the second elastic member through the piston, and wherein annular recesses are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the second elastic member.

Stroke simulator in brake system

A vehicle-use brake device for miniaturization of a base body and the simplification of brake liquid pressure passages formed in the base body. First electromagnetic open/close valves changing over communication/interruption between master cylinders which output liquid pressures due to the operation of brake operators and wheel brakes, and second electromagnetic open/close valves changing over communication/interruption between a liquid-pressure generation member which are configured to generate liquid pressures due to operations of electrically-operated actuators and the wheel brakes are arranged in the base body. An output port which is connected to a wheel brake is formed in one flat side surface of a base body, first and second electromagnetic open/close valves which arrange operational axes thereof on a first plane orthogonal to one side surface are mounted on one surface of the base body which orthogonally intersects with one side surface from the same direction.

Vehicle-use brake device

A motorcycle brake system enables a smooth switching to a hydraulic loss simulator to provide an improved feeling of braking operation. A brake operating unit includes a brake caliper, an electromagnetic on-off valve (V) which blocks a main brake passage, a pressure sensor, a hydraulic modulator, and a hydraulic loss simulator. The brake system allocates a braking force to front and rear wheels by controlling the hydraulic modulator based on a result of detection by the pressure sensor. The brake operating unit has a brake light switch for detecting the starting of operation thereof, actuates an electromagnetic on-off valve (V) to block the main brake passage based on a result of detection by the brake light switch, and unblocks the main brake passage when a predetermined amount of time elapses without any input made to the pressure sensor in a standby state with the main brake passage blocked.

Brake system for motorcycle

A braking device for a motorcycle for controlling a sudden increase in the braking force caused by a time lag from the time the amount of operation of a brake operating portion is detected until a change in hydraulic pressure of wheel braking means for improving the feel of braking. An input-side pressure sensor detects a master cylinder pressure and a hydraulic modulator creates a hydraulic pressure to be exerted on a brake caliper. A controller is provided for controlling the hydraulic pressure created by the hydraulic modulator in accordance with a detected signal provided from the input-side pressure sensor. In accordance with a change in the quantity per unit time of the detected signal provided from the input-side pressure sensor the controller limits a change speed of the hydraulic pressure created by the hydraulic modulator.

Braking device for motorcycle

A hydraulic modulator includes a cylinder for slidably supporting a power piston and changing the volume of a hydraulic chamber communicating with brake calipers according to the sliding of the power piston, and an electric motor for sliding the power piston through a power transmitting mechanism. The cylinder extends parallel to a rotating shaft, and a rotational motion of the electric motor is converted into a linear motion on an axis parallel to the rotating shaft. The power transmitting mechanism is provided by a ball screw mechanism composed of a ball screw nut, balls, and a ball screw shaft for converting the rotational motion of the electric motor into the linear motion of the push slider. The push slider has a head portion coming into spherical contact with the power piston. The hydraulic modulator so configured has a small size, and an improved arrangement of components.

Hydraulic modulator for brake device

To provide a vehicle-use brake device capable of performing a by-wire-method control of high accuracy in response to an inner pressure in a passage by using a pressure sensor possessing high resolution while causing no trouble in view of pressure proof performance. A master cylinder and a brake caliper are connected with each other by a main brake passage and a normally-open solenoid open/close valve Vis provided to the passage. A reaction simulator is connected to the passage closer to the master cylinder side than the open/close valve Vby way of a branch passage. A hydraulic modulator is connected to the passage closer to the brake caliper side than the open/close valve Vby way of a supply/discharge passage. A normally-closed solenoid open/close valve Vis provided to the branch passage, while a normally-closed solenoid open/close valve Vis provided to the supply/discharge passage.

A transmission for a vehicle which can be applied to a shift mechanism where a shaft itself is rotated and having a simple configuration and axial miniaturization. A transmission for a vehicle in which a plurality of transmission shafts are provided each of which supports a plurality of transmission gears in a row and are arranged in parallel so that mutually corresponding transmission gears are engaged and transmission gears rotating in synchronization with the hollow shaft are selectively switched. Every transmission shaft is provided with a clutch mechanism provided between the hollow shaft and each transmission gear for fitting the hollow shaft and each transmission gear or releasing the fitting and a clutch actuator housed in the hollow shaft and the clutch mechanism selectively fits any transmission gear to the hollow shaft according to the axial position of the clutch actuator.

Transmission for vehicle

In a swash plate type hydraulic system such as a hydraulic pump, a hydraulic motor of the like, a group of cylinder bores in which plungers engaging a swash plate are slidably received are annularly arranged in a cylinder block, and higher and lower pressure oil passages are concentrically provided in the cylinder block. Further, a group of distributor valves are provided in the cylinder block in a radially arranged configuration for controlling the connection and disconnection between the higher and lower pressure oil passages and the group of cylinder bores by radial reciprocating motion of the valves, and an eccentric wheel is provided eccentrically with respect to the center of rotation of the cylinder block to abut against the outer ends of the distributor valves so as to impart a reciprocating motion to each of the distributor valves. A shifting device is provided for changing the eccentric relationship between the eccentric wheel and the cylinder block.

Swash plate type hydraulic system

A hydraulic type starting clutch having an input rotating member rotatable in unison with an input shaft, an output rotating member rotatable in unison with an output shaft, and friction plates interposed between the input and output rotating members and adapted to transmit torque from the input rotating member to the output rotating member when engaged. An urging member urges the friction plates to cause transmission of torque from the input rotating member to the output rotating member, and a hydraulic pressure chamber is defined between the urging member and the output rotating member and supplied with a hydraulic fluid from a hydraulic fluid source. A control device controls a pressure regulating valve in a manner such that the pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber is regulated to values dependent upon the rotational speed of the input shaft.

Hydraulic type starting clutch

A hydraulic pump with an unloading function which comprises a pump body, a spring chamber formed in the pump body and communicating with a fluid reservoir, a pump chamber formed in the pump body and communicating with the spring chamber and an accumulator through a suction valve and a delivery valve, respectively. An operation chamber is also formed in the pump body and accommodates a drive member such as a pump drive shaft. A plunger slidably extending through a first partition between the spring chamber and the pump chamber, and a tappet having a smaller diameter than that of the plunger and slidably extends through a second partition between the pump chamber and the operation chamber to abut against the plunger. A spring is accommodated in the spring chamber and is adapted to apply a predetermined resilient force to the plunger to bias it toward the tappet.

Hydraulic pump and anti-skid brake system

An improved anti-lock brake device of simple and compact construction adapted for use with a motorcycle having front and rear master cylinders for actuating front and rear wheel brakes, respectively. The front master cylinder has a first brake chamber for producing a brake torque for a front road wheel and a first control chamber for controlling the brake torque so as to prevent locking of the front wheel. The rear master cylinder has a second brake chamber for producing a brake torque for a rear road wheel and a second control chamber for controlling the brake torque so as to prevent locking of the rear wheel. The control chambers are each in communication with a single common source of oil pressure through a first control valve and with an oil tank through a second control valve.

Vehicular anti-lock brake device

An improved automatic transmission is disclosed which includes a planetary gear mechanism and a wet type centrifugally operated clutch for controlling power transmission from a rotating input member to an output member. The clutch is connected to the input member for integral rotation therewith and disposed in a casing at a location close to the planetary gear mechanism. A drive chain for transmitting power from the output member to a driven member is disposed in the casing at a location close to the planetary gear mechanism on the opposite side of the clutch. One or both of the clutch and the chain is/are immersed in a lubricating oil sealingly contained in the casing so that the lubricating oil is scooped up by means of the clutch or chain in accordance with the rotation of the input member so as to be supplied to the planetary gear mechanism.
