The solenoid body of an electromagnetic solenoid having a pair of coil terminals to which an exciting coil is connected is movable together with a stopper plate in the direction of the arrow X and in the direction opposite to the direction of the arrow X in a casing. Each of a pair of coil springs of electrically conductive material has one end portion which is pressed against the spring supporting portion of the respective coil terminal, and the other end portion which is pressed against the inner surface of a cover, so that the electromagnetic solenoid and the stopper plate are urged towards a lock position. The coil springs includes external connecting portions to which external connecting wires are connected, so that current is supplied to the exciting coil of the electromagnetic solenoid through the coil springs.

Electromagnetic solenoid

A stopper plate includes a through hole to which a lock plate moving in an arrow Y direction when a detent knob is operated can make access and a trapezoidal part contiguous to the through hole. It can move back and forth between a lock position where the trapezoidal part is opposed to the lock plate and an unlock position where the through hole 13a is opposed to the lock plate, it is energized in the unlock position by a first compression coil spring at the normal time. A cam member is coupled to the stopper plate via a second compression coil spring 18 having a spring force larger than the first compression coil spring, and receives a move force in an unlock position direction by cam action between the cam member and the lock plate. A spring force of the second compression coil spring is set smaller than the resultant force of a plunger holding force by an electromagnetic solenoid and a spring force of the first compression coil spring.

Vehicle locking device

A key interlocking mechanism for an automobile ensures that the automobile transmission is in the proper position when the key is removed. The mechanism includes a stopper pin protruding into the rotational path of the key motor and a solenoid valve energized when the automobile transmission is shifted out of park. When the key rotor is rotated with the solenoid valve unenergized, a cam plate within the mechanism acts to push the stopper pin up out of the rotational path of the key rotor. When the solenoid valve is energized, the stopper pin is prevented from being pushed out of the rotational path of the rotor. The key rotor is thus prevented from being rotated to a position in which the key can be removed from the rotor.

A lock plate moves in a direction indicated by an arrow by the operation of a detent knob. A stopper plate to which a main body of an electromagnetic solenoid is fixed is designed to reciprocate between a lock position and an unlock position, the lock position being a position at which a stopper section confronts the lock plate and the unlock position being a position at which the stopper section evacuates from the lock plate. The stopper plate is normally urged toward the lock position by return springs. A cam member coupled to a plunger of the electromagnetic solenoid receives a force to move to the unlock position through the operation of the cam with respect to the lock plate. A resiliency of the return springs is set to a value smaller than a resultant force of a plunger attracting force of the electromagnetic solenoid and a resiliency of a trip spring that urges the plunger in a plunger attracting direction.

Lock system for motor vehicle

An electromagnetic solenoid includes a body unit of plastic integrally including a cylindrical bobbin around which a coil is wound and a connector housing, a plunger arranged in the bobbin, a yoke fixed on the body unit, by insertion molding, to lead magnetic fluxes from the coil onto the side of the plunger, a terminal piece insertion-molded to the body unit in a protruding manner into the connector housing, a coil connection piece of the terminal piece for connecting the terminal of the coil protruding from the side portion of the body unit and a case attached to the body unit to cover the coil and bobbin with an insulation space for insulation defined around the coil connection piece.

A neutral position detector detects the neutral position of a steering wheel, and includes a first rotor which rotates integrally with a steering shaft. The first rotor has a slot which is detectable for identifying the steering wheel position. The detector further includes a second rotor which is rotatable interlockingly with the first rotor. A power transmission mechanism is provided to cause the second rotor to rotate intermittently by a predetermined rotation angle, each time the first rotor completes one revolution. The second rotor has a slot for detecting the position of the steering wheel. When the slots of the first and second rotors become aligned, the detector outputs a detection signal indicative of the position of the steering wheel.

Neutral position detector for steering wheels having a first and second

A switch assembly in which a lever rotates a separate rotary member to operate a first electrical switch and the lever pivots within the rotary member to operate a second electrical switch. The rotating member is held at a first position and a second position when the rotary member is turned. A solenoid is linked to a cam that restores the lever to a neutral position between the first and second positions. A return mechanism returns the pivoting member to its original position when the lever is released.

Switch assembly

There is provided a dimmer passing device for a headlamp of a vehicle having a light switch which drives a light relay when it is on, a momentary control switch which activates the light relay when it is on, a latch circuit which alternately turns on and off an internal switching element in response to the on state of the momentary control switch, and a dimmer relay which causes the light relay to energize a low beam of the headlamp when the internal switching element is turned off and which causes the light relay to energize a high beam of the headlamp when the internal switching element is turned on.

Dimmer passing device for headlamp of vehicle

An apparatus for providing stepwise movement along an elongated stepped member. A holder contains at least one button that includes a pivotally mounted claw disposed to engage the stepped member when the button is depressed. The claw pivots upon engagement with the stepped member and further depression of the button moves the button and holder laterally a distance determined by the steps on the stepped member.

Apparatus for producing stepwise movement

A power supply circuit for a vehicle for providing power to motorized accessories, such as power windows and sun roofs, even after the vehicle ignition has been switched off. The power supply circuit includes a relay having relay contacts for delivering power to the accessory drive motor, and a relay coil which is energized upon switching on of the vehicle ignition. The relay is self-holding and continues to be energized even after the ignition has been switched off. However, when a door of the vehicle is opened, as detected by the closing of a door switch, the relay coil is de-energized and power to the accessory drive motor is terminated. In an alternative embodiment, power to the accessory drive motor is not terminated until after sequential opening and closing of a vehicle door.

Power supply circuit for vehicle

A manually operated mode-selecting valve device allowing pressurized air to be transmitted to a plurality of working agents so as to actuate them simultaneously with the movement of a single valve medium upon operating a corresponding single actuator is disclosed. The operational force required is reduced to such a point as that merely needed to move a single number of the valve medium. The valve medium serves as an air-passage way in cooperation with an air-passage forming medium, thereby rendering reducing the number of part components together with structural simplification.

Manually operated mode-selecting valve device

A switch to be used for a power window of an automobile or the like is disclosed. It has a switch body. A knob is rotatably axially supported by the switch body. The knob has an accommodating chamber in its inside. A presser is accommodated within the chamber and biased downward by a spring. A pair of contact blades are positioned under the presser. Each of the contact blades is formed at its central portion with a V-shaped portion and inclined surfaces extending toward the right and left directions. The inclined surfaces are further extended to form contact portions. There is formed with a step between the inclined surfaces and the contact portions, so that a first step of operation and a second step of operation of the knob can be made without mistake. Stationary contacts are positioned corresponding to the contact portions. It also has a pair of contact holders. Each of the holders has a supporting piece folded upward from its one side. The supporting pieces contact the under surfaces of the inclined surfaces. A two way solenoid is connected to the knob to attract it in the both directions.

Switch for power windows

A switch structure comprising an actuator reciprocally movably mounted on a casing so as to control a contact structure, a cardio-shaped grooved cam provided with the actuator, a wire spring secured at one end to the casing and disposed at other free end in the grooved cam, a locker structure which alternatively holds the actuator at a return position or at an operative position by selectively engaging the free end of the wire spring with the first or second engagement portions each provided with the grooved cam, and an electromagnetic solenoid which releases the free end of the wire spring from the second engagement portion.

Light responsive switch structure for use in a motor vehicle or the like

A switching device comprises a movable member which makes the first switch turn to an opposite phase at the first thrust-in position and makes the second switch turn to an opposite phase at the second thrust-in position, a first locking means which locks the movable member at the first thrust-in position, a second locking means comprising a torsion coil spring engaging member and a heart type cam recess on which the engaging member slides, which locks the movable member at the second thrust-in position, and a reset member which releases the movable member from the locking state. The first and second switches are selectable to set and can be alternatively operated only by repeated thrust-operation.

Thrust-in operation type switching device

An electromagnet assembly is provided. It has a first movable core and a second movable core provided in association with a coil. The first movable core is energized toward the second movable core by a first spring while the second movable core is urged in the direction away from the first movable core by a second spring which has larger biasing force than that of the first spring. When the second movable core is attracted by magnetic excitation of the coil, the first movable core is pressed downwards by the second movable core.
