A sheet separating device includes a sheet separator that includes plural separating portions which have a planar shape and which are stacked one on top of another. The sheet separator has openings provided between the plural separating portions at both ends of the plural separating portions in a sheet passing direction. The sheet separator allows gaps between the plural separating portions facing one another to receive one of plural sheets apiece so as to cause the plural sheets to be kept separated from one another. The sheet separating device is held on a placement portion of a sheet processing apparatus that includes a sheet processing unit and the placement portion. The sheet processing unit sequentially feeds thereinto the plural sheets through a feeding opening and performs processing on the plural sheets. The plural sheets to be fed through the feeding opening are placed on the placement portion.

An image forming apparatus includes an object disposed in an apparatus body so as to be capable of being taken out through an opening; an opening-closing portion that is rotatable and that covers the opening and rotates upward to open the opening; and an operating portion that is rotatable and disposed in front of the opening-closing portion. The operating portion is disposed at a position on a rotation trajectory along which the opening-closing portion rotates upward and on a path along which the object is taken out of the apparatus body. The operating portion rotates forward so as to be retracted from the rotation trajectory and the path along which the object is taken out and so that the path along which the object is taken out is formed between the operating portion and the opening-closing portion in the open state.

An image forming apparatus includes a covering/not-covering member that is supported by an apparatus body so as to be movable between a not-covered position and a covered position; a transporting member that is mountable on and removable from the covering/not-covering member; a positioning member provided at the apparatus body; and an engaging member provided at the covering/not-covering member, the engaging member moving as the transporting member is moved relative to the covering/not-covering member by the positioning member, to engage an engage member and hold the covering/not-covering member at the covered position.

Image forming apparatus

A lid device includes a main body, an opening/closing member, a support portion and a fall preventing member. The opening/closing member is attached to the main body so as to be opened and closed. The support portion is provided on the main body, and supports the opening/closing member in such a manner which the opening/closing member is disengaged from the main body when receiving force of opening the opening/closing member beyond a predetermined opening/closing angular range. The fall preventing member prevents the opening/closing member disengaged from the support portion from coming off the main body.

An aerator includes a ventilating member that opposes a heat generating object and through which air flows, and an inlet device that takes in air from an outside and sends the air to the ventilating member. The ventilating member includes a discharging portion that discharges the air flowing through the ventilating member to the outside, an opening through which heat generated by the heat generating object enters the ventilating member, and a restraining portion that restrains the air taken in by the inlet device from flowing to the heat generating object through the opening.
