Vehicle lamp

A vehicle lamp is configured to selectively perform low beam irradiation and high beam irradiation, and includes at least two reflector units each including a first light emitting element and a second light emitting element disposed next to each other in a front-rear direction and a reflector that reflects emitted light beams from the first light emitting element and the second light emitting element forward. In the vehicle lamp, a low-beam light distribution pattern or part of the low-beam light distribution pattern is formed by simultaneously turning on the first light emitting element of each of the reflector units, and a high-beam light distribution pattern or part of the high-beam light distribution pattern is formed by simultaneously turning on the second light emitting element of each of the reflector units.

A reflector includes a first reflector portion located above the central axis of a headlamp extending in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle, and a second reflector portion located below the central axis. A first light source and a second light source are arranged such that: the light emitted from the first light source is reflected by the first reflector portion to form a first light distribution pattern; and the light emitted from the second light source forms two partial light distribution patterns by being reflected with both the first reflector portion and the second reflector portion, and a second light distribution pattern, which is different from the first light distribution pattern, is formed by combining the two partial light distribution patterns.

Automotive headlamp forming multiple light distribution patterns with a single lamp

A lamp includes a projection lens, a light-emitting element disposed rearwardly of a rear-side focal point of the projection lens to be directed upward, a reflector disposed to cover the light-emitting element from an upper side to reflect light from the light-emitting element toward the projection lens, and a shade disposed with an upper end edge thereof passing closely below the rear-side focal point to block part of reflected light from the reflector. Generally the entirety of a portion of the projection lens positioned above the optical axis is cut away. A reflective surface that reflects downward the reflected light from the main reflector is formed on a rear surface of the shade. A sub reflector that reflects forward the reflected light from the reflector reflected by the reflective surface of the shade so as not to be incident on the projection lens is disposed below the shade.

Vehicular illumination lamp

A headlamp for a vehicle has a projection lens, a light source disposed behind a rear focal point of the projection lens and having an optical axis extending in a longitudinal direction, a reflector which reflects light from the light source toward the projection lens, and a rotary shade which is rotatable and shields a part of the light which is projected from the light source and reflected by the reflector. The rotary shade has a plurality of pattern forming sections, each of which respectively forms a corresponding light distribution pattern including an upper part irradiation pattern and a lower part irradiation pattern. A center of the lower part irradiating patterns is located lower than a horizontal line. A center of the upper part irradiating patterns is located above the horizontal line. The pattern forming sections form at least four different upper part irradiating patterns.

Headlamp for vehicle

A vehicular headlamp includes a light source for illuminating light from the vehicular headlamp in an illumination direction; a swivel mechanism capable of changing the illumination direction horizontally rightward and leftward; a leveling mechanism capable of changing the illumination direction vertically upward and downward; and electronic control unit capable of controlling the swivel mechanism and the leveling mechanism so as to change the illumination direction toward an oncoming vehicle lane side during linear travel of a vehicle. A method of illumination control for a vehicular headlamp includes illuminating light from the vehicular headlamp in an illumination direction; and changing the illumination direction toward an oncoming vehicle lane side during linear travel of a vehicle.

Vehicle lamp including optical axis variable light source

A lamp unit of a vehicular headlamp includes a projection lens with an optical axis; a light source formed from a semiconductor light-emitting element; a first reflector that reflects light from the light source so as to condense such light on or near the optical axis; and a shade positioned between the light source and the projection lens so as to extend along the optical axis direction. The shade shields part of the light reflected by the first reflector. In the lamp unit of the vehicular headlamp, a shielding surface extends rearward from a front end of the shade, where the shade is positioned near a rearward focal point Rf of the projection lens. The shielding surfaces serve as a second reflector that reflects light from the first reflector toward the projection lens. In addition, a transparent portion is formed on part of the second reflector such that part of the light reflected by the first reflector passes downward of the rearward focal point of the projection lens and is then incident to the projection lens.

Lamp unit of vehicular headlamp

A vehicle headlamp is provided with an upper stage light source unit, a middle stage light source unit, and a lower stage light source unit. The upper stage light source unit, the middle stage light source unit, and the lower stage light source unit are provided at a lamp body constituting a lamp member by way of a support member. A low beam light distribution pattern is formed on a front side of a vehicle by overlapping light from the respective light source units. The lower stage light source unit includes two subunits, the two subunits commonly share a single cylindrical lens.

Vehicle headlamp

A vehicle headlamp is provided with a lamp unit including a light source bulb having a light source for emitting light, a main reflector for reflecting the light emitted from the light source, a shade for shielding apart of the light reflected by the main reflecting face, and a projector lens for forward projecting the light having passed the shades. The vehicle headlamp unit is further provided with a first sub-reflector for reflecting the light emitted from the light source, a second sub-reflector for forward projecting the light from the first sub-reflector through the shade and the projector lens when the first sub-reflector is situated at a first position and a third sub-reflector having a third sub-reflecting face for forward projecting the light from the first sub-reflector not through the projector lens when the first sub-reflector is situated at a second position.

A headlamp for vehicle use is provided with: a light source bulb having a light source from which light is emergent; a reflector for reflecting light emergent from the light source; a sub-reflector for reflecting light, which has been reflected on the reflector, to the front side; and a projection lens for directly projecting light of the light source to the front side. These components are arranged in a light chamber composed of a lamp body and a lens cover.

A low beam light distribution pattern is formed by turning on a first light source unit and a high beam light distribution pattern is formed by additionally turning on a second light source unit. The second reflector of the second light source unit has reflecting faces of vertical cross-sectional shapes formed by two types of ellipses whose first focal point is on a center of emission of a second light-emitting element and whose second focal points are respectively positioned on points A, B. The additional lens whose rear focal points are on the second focal points A, B is arranged on a circumference of a projection lens. When the second light source unit is turned on, a high beam additional light distribution pattern is formed that vertically strides over the cutoff line of the low beam light distribution pattern.

Lamp unit of vehicle headlamp

A lamp includes a projection lens, a reflector, and a prismatic lens. The prismatic lens receives direct light, which has been transmitted from the light source outwardly with respect to a widthwise direction of a vehicle, and refracts the received light toward the optical axis. The prismatic lens is separated outwardly from the optical axis in the widthwise direction of a vehicle and is provided between the projection lens and the reflector. The prismatic lens can provide an additional light distribution pattern formed outside, in the widthwise orientation, of a basic light distribution pattern formed from light passed though the projection lens.

As the annular translucent member, an annular lens formed from a peripheral edge portion of a convex-meniscus lens is disposed between a projection lens and a reflector along an outer peripheral edge of the projection lens. Direct light from a light source toward a space beyond the outer periphery of the projection lens is caused to illuminate forward of the lamp by the annular lens, thereby effectively utilizing light source luminous flux. In relation to the above, a shape of a back surface of the annular lens is formed into a spherical surface having its center at a luminescence center of the light source. Accordingly, direct light from the light source can travel straight without being deflected by a back surface of the annular lens, whereby a light deflection angle on a front surface of the annular lens can be calculated easily and with good accuracy.

The deflection angles of the irradiation of lamps provided at the left and right portions of an automobile are continuously increased in correspondence to the increase of a steering angle until the steering angle reaches a predetermined value. The left and right lamps are held at particular deflection angles respectively when the steering angle is equal to or more than a predetermined steering angle. The value of the particular deflection angle of the lamp on the steering direction side is made larger than that of the lamp on the opposite side. When the deflection angle is small, the left and right lamps are deflected in almost the same state to irradiate the straight traveling direction or the traveling direction of an automobile. When the deflection angle becomes large, the lamp on the steering direction side irradiates the traveling direction and the lamp on the opposite direction irradiates an area in the straight traveling direction.
