A short-canceling projection () has a support () and two plate-shaped insulating parts (). With housings () mated, the support () partitions two elastic contact pieces () of a short terminal (). Plate-shaped insulating portions () protrude in opposite directions relative to the support (), and, with the housings () mated, enter between two female terminal fittings () and the elastic contact pieces () and cancel shorting between the female terminal fittings (). Correction parts () are formed on the support () and the plate-shaped insulating portions () and make contact with the first housing () to displace the short-canceling projection () in the direction of approaching the short terminal ().

A wire cover () can be mounted to a connector body (C) in any one of a first direction and a second direction opposite to the first direction with respect to a wire drawing port (). A first mark (M) and a second mark (M) having different appearance from each other are provided in the wire cover (). A first identification mark (S) is provided on one of both side surfaces of the connector body (C) and a second identification mark (S) is provided on the other side surface. When the wire cover () is mounted in the first direction, the first mark (M) and the first identification mark (S) are disposed close to each other. When the wire cover () is mounted in the second direction, the second mark (M) and the second identification mark (S) are close to each other.

A wire cover () to be mounted on a rear surface of a connector body (C) that is connected to ends of wires (W). The wire cover () is configured to hold the wires (W) while bending the wires (W) in a predetermined direction. The wire cover () includes a wire fixing portion () provided on a rear part to project in the predetermined direction and a protruding portion () provided to protrude from the wire fixing portion () in a direction substantially perpendicular to a connecting direction of the connector body (C) and a mating connector ().

Provided is a connector in which terminal fittings and detection terminals can be formed at the same time. A housing () is provided with terminal fittings (A) and a pair of detection terminals (B). The terminal fittings (A) are connected to ends of signal lines (A), and electrically come into contact with counterpart terminal fittings (A) provided in a counterpart housing () when both of the housings () are fitted together. The pair of detection terminals (B) are mutually energized thereby to close a detection circuit when both of the housings () are properly fitted together. The pair of detection terminals (B) are mutually connected via a detection line (B) and formed in the same shape as the terminal fittings (A).

Connector

A retainer () includes locking protrusions () projecting toward side surfaces of a housing (). A resilient wall () defining a mounting hole () and including a part capable of interfering with the locking protrusion () is disposed on the side surface of the housing (). The resilient wall () includes a lock receiving portion for lockably receiving the locking protrusion () by resilient return. An erroneous arrangement identifying portion () is disposed on an inner surface of the mounting hole () of the housing () for restricting an erroneous arrangement of the retainer () into the mounting hole (). The erroneous arrangement identifying portion () is a rib-like part provided on the resilient wall ().

A lever-type connector (C) has an initial lock (L) that is released to enable rotation of a lever () when the connector (C) is connected lightly to a mating connector () and the connector (C) is connected properly to the mating connector () by rotating the lever () from an initial position to a connection end position. The lever () and a housing () have rotation regulating portions (S) spaced from the initial lock (L) and configured to contact each other in a rotating direction of the lever () when the lever () is at the initial position for regulating rotation of the lever (). An abutting portion () is provided near the entrance of a cam groove () and abuts against a cam pin () if the housing () is pushed in a connecting direction to the mating connector () when the lever () is at the initial position.

A connector assembly has a first connector () fit into a receptacle (A) of a second connector (). An erroneous connection preventing rib () and two fitting ribs () are provided on an outer surface of a housing () of the first connector (). The erroneous connection preventing rib () can enter a groove () on an inner surface of the receptacle (A) during proper connection of the first and second connectors (), but collides with the receptacle (A) during erroneous connection. The fitting ribs () fit into fitting grooves () on the inner surface of the receptacle (A) both during the proper connection and during the erroneous connection. The fitting ribs () fit into the fitting grooves () before the collision of the erroneous connection preventing rib () with the receptacle (A) during the erroneous connection.

A connector assembly has first and second connectors (). The first connector () has a housing () with a terminal accommodating portion () for accommodating terminal fittings () and a lever accommodating portion (). The second connector () has a receptacle () for receiving the first connector (). A lever () is provided in the lever accommodating portion () and can be operated to connect or separate the connectors (). Guide grooves () are provided between the terminal accommodating portion () and the lever accommodating portion () and guide ribs () project on an inner peripheral surface of the receptacle (). The guide ribs () engage in the guide grooves () to prevent the connectors () from inclining during a connecting operation.

A terminal fitting (F) is such that a main body portion () in the form of a rectangular tube and a crimping portion () to be crimped to an end of a wire (Wa) are coupled by a substantially U-shaped neck portion () in which side plates () stand up from opposite side edges of a bottom plate (), and the crimping portion () is so squeezed to provide a bell mouth () on a front end. The neck portion () is so formed that upper edges () of the side plates () continuously extend from a top (A) of the bell mouth () and are located at height positions not lower than the top (A). The upper edges () of the side plates () of the neck portion () are so inclined as to gradually increase a height from a rear end toward a front end.
