A centrifugal blower includes an impeller, and a scroll casing. The impeller draws in gas through an opening in a side surface and sends out the gas in a centrifugal direction. The scroll casing includes an inlet, an outlet, a peripheral wall arranged along an impeller outer circumference, and a tongue that guides the gas flowing along the peripheral wall to the outlet. The peripheral wall includes a first planar portion extending continuously from the tongue, and a second planar portion located at a position advanced from the first planar portion in a rotation direction of the impeller. The peripheral wall is arranged so that a clearance is minimal at the second planar portion. The clearance is a difference between distances from a center of the impeller to an inner surface of the peripheral wall and to an outer surface of the impeller in a passage along the peripheral wall.

Centrifugal blower

A turbofan includes a circular end plate, a ring-shaped shroud facing the end plate, and a plurality of blade members disposed between the end plate and the shroud. An annular portion of a space between the end plate and the shroud where the blade members are disposed is a pressure-increase flow path. The turbofan causes air to flow from an inner peripheral side to an outer peripheral side of the pressure-increase flow path. A cross-sectional area of the pressure-increase flow path increases gradually from an upstream end toward a downstream end of the pressure-increase flow path.

Turbofan

This indoor unit of an air conditioner includes an indoor unit main body having an inlet and an outlet; a heat exchanger; and a cross-flow fan configured to blow out air, which has undergone heat exchange by the heat exchanger. The cross-flow fan has a blow-out flow path that is configured such that a cross-sectional area gradually increases downward, with the blow-out flow path guiding blown-out air to the outlet. When a distance in the lower wall from an intersection, where a tangent inscribing a tongue of the cross-flow fan orthogonally intersects the lower wall, to a lower end of the indoor unit main body is referred to as distance L, a ratio (L/D) of the distance L to outer diameter D of an impeller of the cross-flow fan is less than 0.05. At least part of the blow-out flow path is formed to project out of the outlet at least when air conditioning operation is performed.

Indoor unit of air conditioner

An impeller of a multiblade fan includes a discoid main plate that rotates about a rotational axis, blades, and a side plate. The blades are disposed annularly about the rotational axis on one side of the main plate, with one end of each of the blades being fixed to an outer peripheral portion of the main plate. The side plate includes an annular side plate body portion that joins outer peripheral edges of the other ends of the blades to each other, an axially extending portion that extends from an opposite-main plate side end of the side plate body portion in the rotational axis direction further than the opposite-main plate side ends of the blades, and a radially extending portion that extends from an outer peripheral end of the side plate body portion further than a radial-direction outer peripheral end of the axially extending portion.

Impeller of multiblade fan and multiblade fan having the same

An air conditioner includes a unit casing, an impeller, a scroll casing, and a heat exchanger. The unit casing is partitioned by a partition member into a fan chamber and a heat exchanger chamber. The heat exchanger is disposed inside the heat exchanger chamber so as to face a scroll blowout opening in the scroll casing. The scroll casing is disposed inside the fan chamber. A wall section projects from a heat exchanger side of a flat plate section of the partition member and is disposed outside a scroll outlet section of the scroll casing.

Air conditioner

An air conditioner includes a centrifugal fan and a unit casing that houses the centrifugal fan. The centrifugal fan includes an impeller and a scroll casing that houses the impeller. The unit casing has a unit intake port that opens in a direction crossing an opening direction of a scroll intake port. At a circumferential portion of the scroll intake port of the scroll casing, there is formed a bulged portion with an inner surface that is formed evenly in a circumferential direction and an outer surface portion formed away from the unit intake port that bulges out to a side opposite the impeller.
