There is provided a safety indwelling needle comprising an inner needle unithaving an inner needle, an inner needle hubprovided on a proximal end of the inner needleand a needle protecting member disposed at a distal side of the inner needle hub, and an outer needle unithaving an outer needle, characterized in that the needle protecting member includes an extendable housing unitand the housing unitcan partly store the inner needletherein in a state where the housing unitis extended.

A safety indwelling needle including an inner needle unithaving an inner needle, an inner needle huband a housing memberdisposed at a distal side of the inner needle hub, and an outer needle unithaving an outer needle, an outer needle huband an outer needle cap, characterized in that the housing memberincludes openings for allowing penetration of the inner needleat a distal end and a proximal end thereof, an internal space for storing only a distal end portion of the inner needleincluding a needlepointthereof when the inner needleis drawn out from the outer needle, and a shielding member which automatically closes the opening at the proximal end of the housing memberby a magnetic force.

A guide wire having an elongated core wire provided with a tabular distal end portion, and a coiled wire provided on an outer circumference of the core wire, wherein the distal end portion of the core wire is provided with a cutout section or a rased section so that a diametrical cross-sectional area of the distal end portion of the core wire gradually decreases toward a distal end thereof.
