The invention relates to a method and apparatus for recognition processing of continuous words of a group which is structured by a plurality of words such that a recognition result of all of the words which structures the continuous words is effectively and accurately confirmed. This invention concerns obtaining high recognition capability while there is a large limitation on memory capacity and processing ability of a CPU. When several words are selected as registration words among a plurality of recognizable words, a recognition target speaker speaks the respective registration words, registration word data for the respective registration words from the sound data is created and saved in a RAM. When the recognition target speaker speaks a registration word, sound is recognized using the registration word data, and when recognizable words other than the registration words are recognized, sound is recognized using specific speaker group sound model data. Furthermore, speaker learning processing is performed using the registration word data and the specific speaker group sound model data, and when recognizable words other than the registration words are recognized, sound is recognized using post-speaker learning data for speaker adaptation.

Humidity sensor and a method of producing the humidity sensor

A humidity sensing apparatus which includes a humidity sensor which detects humidity as a function of impedance is provided. A reference resistor has a predetermined resistance value. A charge switching circuit selectively couples one of the reference resistor or the humidity sensor in series with a reference capacitor which has a predetermined capacitance. A voltage judging circuit determines whether the terminal voltage of the reference capacitor is high or low. A charge/discharge switch selectively charges and discharges the reference capacitor in accordance with the output of the voltage judging circuit. A sensor direction switching circuit inverts the direction of current flowing through the humidity sensor during charging of the reference capacitor. An oscillation frequency counter counts the number of charge/discharge cycles which are repeated during a predetermined time period. A humidity sensor resistance value calculating circuit calculates the resistance value of the humidity sensor in accordance with the number of repeated charge/discharge cycles when the reference capacitor is coupled to the reference resistor for charging and the number of repeated charge/discharge cycles when the reference capacitor is coupled to the humidity sensor during charging. A humidity determining circuit determines the humidity from the resistance value of the humidity sensor calculated by the humidity sensor resistance value calculating circuit.

Humidity measuring apparatus

A humidity sensor including an insulating substrate, a pair of electrodes formed on the insulating substrate, and a porous silica film with carbon particles dispersed therein is formed over the insulating substrate and electrodes. A silica film may be formed over the porous silica film or directly on the porous silica film containing carbon particles, or directly on the insulating substrate with the electrodes formed thereon to increase adhesion between the porous silica film and the substrate.

The tubular wet gel formed from the sol solution has a uniform thickness and a highly precise round cross-section. The dimensional precision of the wet gel is maintained by rotating the wet gel during drying in order to prevent warping.

Method of preparing tubular silica glass

A method of preparing tubular silica glass is disclosed. The method includes the steps of first hydrolyzing silicon alkoxide with acid and then adding ultra-fine particle silica to form a sol solution. The sol solution is placed in a cylindrical container and gelled while rotating the cylindrical container to obtain a tubular gel. The tubular gel is dried and sintered to the tubular silica glass.
