An electro-thermal transducer is composed of a substrate, a resistive heater element formed on the substrate, and electrically conductive members to supply electric power to the resistive heater element, wherein the resistive heater element contains a metal boride as the principal constituent. The transducer of this construction is capable of selecting its resistivity to a high value and causing a large electric current to flow in the form of short pulses for the purpose of high speed printing, hence it is stable against repetitive pulse applications over a long period of time. The method of producing the transducer is by forming a layer of a resistive heater element including a metal boride on a substrate of an electrically insulative material by conducting a reactive sputtering reaction between a target of an elemental form of the metal and diborane gas; and then applying to the resistive heater element an electrically conductive member for supplying the resistive heater element with electric power.

Method for producing electro-thermal transducer

The present invention relates to an improvement in an emitting-receiving facsimile apparatus designed with arrangement and structure allowing to realize a smaller apparatus than in the prior art. The apparatus of the present invention includes an emitting unit having a table for supporting and advancing the original in a horizontal direction and an original reading device positioned under the table, and a receiving unit positioned adjacent to the emitting unit and having a roll-formed recording material of which rotary axis coincides with the advancing direction of the original, an advancing device for advancing the recording material in a direction perpendicular to the advancing direction of the original, a recording device for recording information on the recording material, whereby the above-mentioned structure allowing to compactize the apparatus then in the prior art.

A thermal head of the present invention is composed of a substrate, a resistive heater element formed on the substrate, and electrically conductive members to supply electric power to the resistive heater element, wherein the resistive heater element contains a metal boride as the principal constituent. The present invention discloses a technique of effecting recording on a recording medium by a plurality of recording elements, wherein recording density by the plurality of recording elements is varied. Further, the recording density by the plurality of recording elements is varied in accordance with a time required for electrical transmission of informations to be recorded for definite numbers of scanning lines. For example, when the time required for such electrical transmission is short, the recording is effected by small numbers of the recording elements, while, when the time required for the electrical transmission is long, the recording operation is effected by large numbers of the recording elements, thereby preventing the image quality from lowering.

Method and apparatus for facsimile recording

A photographic camera having a magnetic actuating device associated with an electronic control device for initiating a release of one or more of the camera mechanisms from the cocked position thereof. In one embodiment of the invention, the magnetic actuating device comprises a single magnetic winding with a core material having a substantially rectangular hysteresis loop, and an armature of which the movement is controlled by the polarity of the magnetic winding and which is connected to spring-biased means for latching the mechanism in the cocked position. After the core is magnetized by applying a voltage to the magnetic winding for a relatively short period to hold the armature with the latching means in the cocked position against the force of the spring, the magnetic winding is energized by an output of the opposite polarity from the electronic control device causing the armature to move away from the core, whereby the release of the mechanism is initiated.
