Disclosed is a method for repairing a damaged area of a silicone hard-coat layer on an automotive resin glazing substrate by applying an intermediate coating composition (I) to the damaged area and applying a topcoat coating composition (II) to the intermediate coating composition. The intermediate coating composition (I) contains (A) a reactive siloxane compound and (B) silica. The topcoat coating composition (II) contains (C) an alkoxysilane having a UV-absorbing functional group, (D) a multifunctional alkoxysilane, (E) a reactive siloxane compound, (F) colloidal silica, and (G) phosphoric acid. The method forms a coating having the same appearance and physical properties as the underlying silicone hard-coat layer.

A temporary adhesive for which temporary adhesion and subsequent detachment are simple. The temporary adhesive composition includes: (A) an organopolysiloxane having a weight-average molecular weight of at least 15,000, obtained by a hydrosilylation reaction between (A1) and (A2) described below, and (B) an organic solvent having a boiling point of not more than 220&#xb0; C., wherein (A1) is an alkenyl group-containing organopolysiloxane having a weight-average molecular weight exceeding 2,000, comprising 35 to 99 mol % of T siloxane units and 1 to 25 mol % of M siloxane units, and in which alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atoms represent at least 2 mol % of all the organic groups bonded to silicon atoms, and (A2) is a specific organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two silicon atom-bonded hydrogen atoms or a specific hydrosilyl group-containing compound.

A curing composition comprising (A) a silane compound having formula: RSi(OR)wherein Ris C&#x2013;Calkyl, C&#x2013;Calkenyl or phenyl, and Ris C&#x2013;Calkyl, C&#x2013;Cacyl or C&#x2013;Calkoxyalkyl and (B) phosphoric acid is added to an organosilicon compound to formulate a silicone-base coating composition which remains shelf stable and quickly cures at room temperature after being applied to a substrate, to form a cured coating having transparency, surface hardness, adhesion and the like. A silicone-base coating composition having the curing composition formulated therein is effective as a solventless, RTV silicone coating composition of one part type.
