A system for determining a cost effective and practical operation method for thermal source equipments includes a fundamental plan data storage unit, a fundamental plan generating unit for determining a fundamental operation plan of each equipment while minimizing an operation cost by linear programming, an operation knowledge storage unit for storing operation knowledge such as equipment performance characteristics and operation know-how, a fundamental plan evaluating unit for evaluating the fundamental plan, a modifying rule storage unit for storing modifying rules used for modifying the evaluated fundamental plan, and a fundamental plan modifying unit for modifying the fundamental plan in accordance with the modifying rules.

Plant operation method and plant operation control system

An oil-free scroll fluid machine having a stationary scroll member, an orbiting scroll member opposing the stationary scroll member, an orbiting bearing boss provided on the orbiting scroll member and receiving an orbiting bearing, and a drive shaft drivingly engaging with the orbiting scroll member through the orbiting bearing and causing an orbiting motion of the orbiting scroll member relative to the stationary scroll member. The orbiting bearing boss projects from the orbiting scroll member into a compression chamber formed between both scroll members beyond a plane which is at 1/2 the height of the wrap on the stationary scroll member. An ample discharge space is formed between the end of the orbiting bearing boss and the end plate of the stationary scroll member.

In a supercharger bearing assembly including floating bushes journalling a rotor shaft interposed between the rotor shaft and a housing assembly, the floating bushes each have an inner peripheral portion of a smaller length than an outer peripheral portion, to reduce the amplitude of vibration of the floating bush, reduce the loss of power due to a frictional loss and increase resistance to seizure.

Turbocharger bearing assembly

A thrust bearing has a plurality of bearing pads each provided on its back side with a pivot, and a support on which the pads are disposed in the circumferential direction. An integral carrier is mounted on the support. The carrier has leg portions and a resilient portion and definies a squeeze film damper portion between the rear surface thereof and the opposing surface of the support. The pads are carried tiltably by the carrier through the pivots.

Thrust bearing

A turbocharger having a rotor shaft supported by bearing portions of a bearing housing through floating bushes. Holders for the floating bushes are replaceably secured to the inner peripheral surfaces of the bearing portions opposing to the outer peripheral surfaces of the floating bushes. When the holders are worn down, the holders solely can be replaced with new ones, so that it is not necessary to renew the bearing housing as a whole.

Bearing support for turbochargers

A damped bearing device operative to damp vibration acting on a bearing journalling a rotary shaft includes a spring body resiliently supporting the bearing with respect to a housing. The spring body includes a spring portion arranged on the outer peripheral side of the bearing to minimize the axial dimensions of the bearing device without increasing the stress produced in the spring portion of the spring body.

Damped bearing device

A damped bearing for damping the vibration generated in a bearing supporting a rotary shaft and shaft system, by a fluid film damper and by a resilient bearing support. The damped bearing is characterized by having a means in the fluid film damper for adjusting the damping coefficient of the fluid film damper.

A damped bearing device for damping the vibration acting on the bearing supporting a rotor shaft. The damped bearing device has an eccentricity adjusting ring by which an end of a bearing supporting spring assembly adapted to be fixed to the housing is fixed to the latter at an offset corresponding to the amount of deflection of the bearing supporting spring assembly.

A thrust bearing or tapered-land thrust bearing including a plurality of lubricant feeding nozzle holes. At least one of the nozzle holes is disposed in close proximity to the leading edge of a tapered surface of a bearing surface of the thrust bearing. By this arrangement, hot oil carryover can be minimized and the temperatures of a film of lubricant formed between the bearing surface and a thrust collar positioned there-against and a bearing body of the thrust bearing can be reduced. Thus the thrust bearing can withstand uses under high speed and high load conditions.

There is disclosed a tilting-pad bearing comprising a plurality of bearing pads tiltably disposed in surface contact at their arcuate outer peripheral surfaces with an inner surface of the bearing support, pad positioning members for positioning circumferential ends of adjacent bearing pads, the pad positioning members being provided on the pad support so as to be positioned between the bearing pads, oil supply ports provided in and longitudinally of the pad positioning members, and oil outlet grooves provided in parallel with the axis of the rotary shaft adjacent to the pad positioning members of the pad support.

Tilting-pad bearings

The invention is concerned with a sliding-type bearing suitable for use in high-speed rotary machines. The sliding-type bearing has a bearing surface provided with a lubricating oil groove at each of two portions thereof substantially 90.degree. spaced from the point to which the load exerted by the bearing is applied. A chamfer is formed in the portion of the bearing surface near one of the two lubricating oil grooves remoter from the point of the minimum bearing clearance which is determined by the direction of rotation of the shaft and the direction of application of the load by the rotary shaft. This chamfer permits the discharge of the heated lubricating oil to the outside of the bearing thereby to prevent the same from flowing into the point of the minimum bearing clearance.
