A method of simulating noise generated by a tire using a computer, wherein waveforms of the sounds are determined, considering the phase, of which sounds originate from sources of sound, namely, a leading edge which is an edge of the load-supporting portion of the tread and first contacts the road surface when the tire rotates, and a trailing edge positioned opposite to the leading edge. The so-determined waveforms of the sound are integrated over the entire surface of the tread, after that, audible sound of the integrated waveforms is emitted from a headphone as tire-noise.

Method of simulating tire tread noise and simulator therefor

In a rim-fitted tire, a plurality of static unbalance correction weights are fixed in such a manner as to be distributed on both sides of a reference plane substantially perpendicular to the axial direction of a rim, and a plurality of dynamic unbalance correction weights, corresponding to amounts of correction of dynamic unbalance obtained with the static unbalance correction weights fixed, are fixed, thereby correcting weight unbalance.

A pneumatic radial tire for high-speed running vehicles has a directional tread pattern defined by one or two relatively wide circumferential grooves arranged in the central region and plural slant grooves arranged in each side region of the tread, and an aspect ratio of not more than 0.8. In this tire, the slant grooves are arranged in a herringbone form with respect to the equator without communicating with the circumferential groove, each of which extending from an initial end to a terminal end and being a folded line at a folding point corresponding to 0.3-0.45 times of the tread width that an inclination angle .alpha. of line segment inward from the folding point is 40.degree.-85.degree. with respect to the meridian of the tire and an inclination angle .beta. of line segment outward from the folding point is smaller than the inclination angle .alpha. and 0.degree.-50.degree. with respect to the meridian of the tire.
