In a wireless communication system, a portable device transmits a first signal spread based on a reference period indicated by a synchronization signal transmitted from an in-vehicle device and transmits a second signal spread based on an operation by a user. The in-vehicle device sets a search period based on a variation range in a delay time from when the synchronization signal is transmitted to when the spread first signal is transmitted and sets a residual period that starts at an ending point of the search period and ends at an ending point of the reference period when a starting point of the reference period is set at a starting point of the search period. When the in-vehicle device fails in a synchronous acquisition for the search period, the in-vehicle device performs a synchronous acquisition process for the residual period.

Wireless communication system

An in-vehicle apparatus allows the user to check and adjust tire pressure whenever he/she thinks of doing it, by transmitting, from a portable unit that is carried by the user, a start request signal through UHF band electric wave to forcefully operate sensor units for detecting the tire pressure in each of the tires of the automobile, by collecting the tire pressure information to a control unit of the in-vehicle apparatus, and by displaying the tire pressure on a display unit of the portable unit when the tire pressure information is transmitted from a Bluetooth unit of the in-vehicle apparatus to a Bluetooth unit of the portable unit.

An in-vehicle device notifies a mobile device of a frequency channel which has been stored in its memory unit, and sets the notified channel to a reception channel. The mobile device transmits a reply signal through the channel notified from the in-vehicle device. When the in-vehicle device determines that a code included in the received reply signal is identical with a code specific to a vehicle, the in-vehicle device stores the channel used for receiving the reply signal in its memory unit. As a result, each communication is conducted through the same channel, which enabled the successful communication previously, thereby enhancing the certainty of communication.

Vehicle control system and method, and component devices

When a demodulated signal of a radio signal in Chtransmitted from a TPMS transmitter is acquired, a control IC controls the frequency of a signal inputted from a PLL circuit to a mixer into a frequency for converting a TPMS radio signal into an intermediate frequency signal of a specific frequency. When the demodulated signal of the radio signal transmitted from a portable unit through two frequency channels is acquired, the control IC determines a channel whose state of communication is favorable from between Chand Ch, and controls the signal frequency for conversion into a frequency for converting a keyless radio signal in the determined channel into an intermediate frequency signal.

Vehicle control system

When a vehicle door locking operation is conducted, an in-vehicle device checks the vehicle compartment to determine whether a mobile unit exists in the vehicle compartment. When the in-vehicle device receives a response from the mobile unit indicating its presence in the compartment, the in-vehicle device receives a response from the mobile unit, prohibits the door from locking, and activates a buzzer. The mobile unit thus can be prevented from being locked in the vehicle compartment. When the mobile unit receives the search signal, it sounds its buzzer, thereby making it possible to further indicate its location within the compartment.

Electronic key system and method

A vehicular combined control system has functions of a smart entry system and a TPMS. A smart ECU turns on the output of a voltage signal terminal intermittently or in response to a given trigger. When the output of the voltage signal terminal turns on, a RF receiver section receives information from a portable device regardless of the ON/OFF state of an ignition switch to transmit the information to the smart ECU. When the ignition switch is ON and the output of the voltage signal terminal turns off, the RF receiver section receives information from tire sensors to transmit the information to a TPMS microcomputer.

In-vehicle device and vehicular combined control system

A vehicle communication system has a receiving unit on a vehicle side for inputting a demodulated analog signal to determination units based on a received radio signal from a key unit. Then, one of the two determination units outputs a high-check signal that takes a high value when the analog signal is greater than a high threshold and the other determination unit outputs a low-check signal that takes a low value when the analog signal is smaller than a low threshold. Then, a sync. signal generator successively defines a determination period based on the high and low check signals. Then, a binary level of the analog signal is determined by a level determination unit based on the check signals, along with an estimation and a correction of an indefinite signal when the signal level cannot be determined based on a coding rule and the determination by the determination units.

Receiving unit of vehicle communication system

An IC card reader is provided for reading data stored in an IC card with radio communication and inputting the data into, for example, a personal computer. The IC card reader includes a card holder and a fastening mechanism which attaches the card holder to a data reading table detachably. This structure provides for ease of usage of the card reader to a user in two selectable modes. In the first mode, the stored data may be inputted into the computer only by passing the IC card over the data reading table instantaneously. In the second mode, the user may insert the IC card into the card holder fitted on the data reading table to transmit data to the compute through radio communication.
