A method includes: (a) obtaining information about a period of a fluctuation cycle in an autonomic nerve of a user at rest; (b) inducing the user to breaths in synchronization with the period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve according to the obtained information; and (c) synchronizing a fluctuation in a diameter of a pupil of the user with the period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve at the same time of (b) according to the obtained information. The period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve is a period of a fluctuation cycle in the diameter of the pupil, a period of a fluctuation cycle in a heart beats of the user, or a period calculated from the period of the fluctuation cycle in the diameter of the pupil and the period of the fluctuation cycle in the heart beats.

Method of using autonomic nerve fluctuations and system using the same

A method comprising: (a) obtaining information about a period of a fluctuation cycle in an autonomic nerve of a user; and (b) repeating, in a same period as the period of the fluctuation cycle in the autonomic nerve, a process that includes inducing a point of gaze of the user to move in a direction away from the user and inducing the point of gaze of the user to move in a direction to approach the user, according to the obtained information. The back substrateis superposed on a front substrate. Then, a sealing step is performed in a sealing atmosphere prepared by mixing a predetermined amount of a reducing gas with a non-oxidizing gas. The above enables the impurities attributed to organic components due to a sealing material paste to remain as low molecular components, whereby the impurities are evacuated and removed in an evacuating step performed after the sealing step. The present invention aims to provide a manufacturing method for a PDP which allows even high-definition and ultra-high-definition PDPs to demonstrate an excellent image display capability at improved luminous efficiency, by suppressing variation of a discharge gas composition, and by eliminating an impurity gas in a discharge space effectively. To achieve the aim, deterioration of an absorbent materialcomposed of copper ion-exchanged ZSM-5-type zeolite is prevented, by performing both sealing and evacuation steps for the front substrateand back substratein a non-oxidizing gas atmosphere. This maintains properties of the absorbent materialfor absorbing the impurity gas without degradation, even if the absorbent materialabsorbs a Xe gas in a discharge gas introducing step.

The present invention provides a phosphor having high luminance, a property of low luminance degradation during driving of a light-emitting device and manufacturing processes, and chromaticity y in PDP comparable to that of BAM:Eu. The present invention is the phosphor represented by the general formula xSrO.yEuO.MgO.zSiOwhere 2.970&#x2266;x&#x2266;3.500, 0.001 &#x2266;y&#x2266;0.030, and 1.900&#x2266;z&#x2266;2.100 are satisfied, wherein a main peak is present in the range of diffraction angle 2&#x3b8;=16.1 to 16.5 degree in the X-ray diffraction pattern obtained by measurement on the blue phosphor using an X-ray with a wavelength of 0.774 &#x212b;, and at least one condition of the following conditions (A1) and (A2) is satisfied: (A1) at least two peaks whose tops are located in the range of diffraction angle 2&#x3b8;=15.3 to 16.1 degree are present; and (A2) at least two peaks whose tops are located in the range of diffraction angle 2&#x3b8;=22.2 to 23.3 degree are present.

In this manufacturing method, heat treatment is carried out in a gas atmosphere having an oxygen partial pressure of 1&#xd7;10atm to 1&#xd7;10atm at a temperature of 1200&#xb0; C. to 1400&#xb0; C.

Method of manufacturing blue silicate phosphor, and blue silicate phosphor and light-emitting device

In this phosphor, a peak intensity at 1490 cmis 0.02 to 0.8 when a peak intensity at 565 cmis set to 1 in a spectrum obtained by measurement using photoacoustic spectroscopy.

A developing unit for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the outer peripheral surface of a latent image bearer rotating in one direction utilizes an electrified developer that is prepared by mixing two components, or an electrostatically chargeable toner and magnetic carrier. The developing unit includes a developing roller for supplying the developer to the latent image bearer and a carrier collecting roller disposed on the downstream side of the developing roller with respect to the rotational direction of the latent image bearer. The carrier collecting roller includes first and second magnetic pole elements of different magnetic polarities, both presenting a magnetic field intensity of 400 G to 750 G. The first magnetic pole element is disposed at a position on the opposite side across the center of the carrier collecting roller from the position opposing the latent image bearer. A surface portion of the protective filmsubstantially is composed of magnesium (Mg), aluminum (Al), nitrogen (N), and oxygen (O). The protective filmis formed so that in the surface portion of the protective film, a ratio of the number of atoms of the aluminum to a total of the number of atoms of the magnesium and the number of atoms of the aluminum is at least 2.1% but not more than 66.5%, a ratio of the number of atoms of the nitrogen to a total of the number of atoms of the nitrogen and the number of atoms of the oxygen is at least 1.2% but not more than 17.2%, and a ratio of the total of the number of atoms of the nitrogen and the number of atoms of the oxygen to the total of the number of atoms of the magnesium and the number of atoms of the aluminum is at least 1.0 but not more than 1.35.

The present invention is a blue phosphor that is represented by a general formula xSrO.yEuO.MgO.zSiO, where 2.970&#x2266;x&#x2266;3.500, 0.006&#x2266;y&#x2266;0.030, and 1.900&#x2266;z&#x2266;2.100. This blue phosphor has a crystal structure that is essentially a merwinite structure, and the crystal structure has a unit cell volume of 714.8 &#x212b;or less. Or, in this blue phosphor, a peak appearing around 2&#x3b8;=22.86 degrees in an X-ray diffraction pattern obtained by measurement of the blue phosphor using an X-ray with a wavelength of 0.773 &#x212b; has a one-fifth value width of 0.17 degrees or less. Furthermore, the present invention is a light-emitting device having a phosphor layer including the phosphor. A suitable example of the light-emitting device is a plasma display panel.

By using the two-component developer, the reduction of the hot offset occurrence temperature in a fixing apparatus can be prevented. Further, image density insufficiency, image fogging and toner scattering and the like can be suppressed, with a result that images having high quality and sufficient image density can be obtained.
