An image forming system includes image forming device and bookbinding device. Image forming device has operation unit for selecting sheet and cover and control unit for control of warning. Bookbinding device stacks plural sheets, forms a bundle of sheets, and binds a book by wrapping sheets with the cover in a square-shape. Bookbinding device has measuring unit measuring thickness of the bundle of sheets. Control unit calculates difference between length of selected cover, and sum of twice a length of selected sheet and a spine width, and determines warning, based on result of comparison between the difference and a predetermined value; executes determination of warning in first warning mode, based on result obtained with spine width of a set value, and/or in second warning mode, based on result obtained with spine width according to measured thickness of the bundle of sheets; and executes first warning mode prior to bookbinding output.

Image forming system

An image forming system includes a document conveying section that reversely conveys documents such that a front side and back side of the documents pass through a reading position, an image reading section for reading images on the documents conveyed to the reading position and generating image data, an image forming section for forming images on recording media, according to the image data, an input section for inputting designation whether the images are to be formed on both sides or on one side of the recording media, and a control section for controlling image reading by the image reading section and image forming by the image forming section, wherein the control section controls the image forming section to form an image according to image data in a condition where a single job includes both single-sided and double-sided image recording, correspondingly to the designation inputted via the input section.

An image forming apparatus comprises: an image reading section for reading a plurality of document images of a document having a plurality of sheets page by page, the document being set on a reading position in a state that image directions of the document images are mixed; a designating section for designating each image direction of the document images of the document set on the reading position; a storing section for storing the document images read by the image reading section; an image forming section for recognizing each rotation angle for directing the stored document images to a reference direction which is previously set, in accordance with each designated image direction, and for forming a plurality of output images by rotating the document images by each recognized rotation angle; and an output section for outputting the formed output images.

Image forming apparatus and image forming method

An image forming apparatus is provided with an image forming section to form an image on a sheet and to discharge the sheet on which the image is formed; a stacking section to stack the sheet discharged from the image forming section; a setting section to set a condition whether or not to allow a mixed stack mode on which plural sheets related to at least two different jobs are mixed and stacked in the stacking section; and a discharge control section to control the image forming section to discharge the sheet to the stacking section in accordance with the setting condition whether or not to allow the mixed stack mode.
