A metal member includes a first plate, and a second plate abutting against and welded to the first plate in at least one butt portion. In the butt portion, a length from a first end to a second end of a welding boundary line between the first plate and the second plate is longer than a length of a straight line connecting the first end to the second end of the welding boundary line.

Metal member and method of manufacturing the same

A vehicle frame structure includes a pair of side rails extending along the length of a vehicle, and outriggers coupled to the side rails, respectively, to protrude further outward in the vehicle width direction with respect to the corresponding side rails. The outrigger includes a cab mounting bracket joined to the side rail. The cab mounting bracket includes a rear end side that is inclined inward in the vehicle width direction as it goes rearward. The cab mounting bracket further includes, in the middle of the rear end, a bent portion which is bent to have a convex shape toward the front of the vehicle.

Vehicle frame structure

A side rail includes base members, and plate members that are different in both plate thickness and material from the base members. The base members have a cutout or an opening, and the plate members are fitted into this cutout or opening and joined to the base members by laser welding.

Side rail and manufacturing method of side rail

The present disclosure provides a vehicle body frame structure including: a side rail extending in a vehicle longitudinal direction and disposed so as to face a front tire in a vehicle transverse direction; a cab mount member projecting toward a vehicle transverse direction outer side, from a region of the side rail that is further toward a vehicle rear side than the front tire, and to which a body is mounted; and a projecting portion projecting toward the front tire from a region of the cab mount member that is away from the side rail in the vehicle transverse direction.

Vehicle body frame structure

A vehicle front section structure comprising a side rail extending along a vehicle front-rear direction at a vehicle width direction outside of a vehicle front section, the side rail including a bent portion at the vehicle rear side of a front tire, and the bent portion bending toward the vehicle width direction outside on progression from the vehicle front toward the vehicle rear; and a projection projecting out from the bent portion toward the vehicle width direction outside, and having an angled face angled toward the vehicle width direction outside on progression from the vehicle front toward the vehicle rear at a face of the projection facing the front tire.

Vehicle front section structure

A vehicle framework structure includes: a side rail that is placed on an outer side, in a vehicle width direction, of a vehicle lower portion of a vehicle with a frame, and that is extended along a vehicle front-rear direction, a dimension, in a vehicle width direction, between front sides of the side rails in a vehicle front-rear direction being shorter than that between rear sides thereof, and the front side in the vehicle front-rear direction being connected to the rear side by a bending portion; an outrigger provided in the bending portion and projecting outward in the vehicle width direction; and a load transmission member provided in the side rail, the load transmission member overlapping with the outrigger in a vehicle side view.

Vehicle framework structure

Vehicle structures for dissipating energy associated with a collision are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a vehicle includes a side support that extends between a front suspension mount and a rear suspension mount of the vehicle. The side support includes a targeted energy absorption portion that defines a high-strength region of the side support. The vehicle also includes a cab mounting bracket coupled to the side support and extending outward from the side support. The cab mounting bracket includes a rearward attachment position on the side support and the rearward attachment position of the cab mounting bracket is positioned proximate to the high-strength region of the side support. The vehicle further includes a wheel assembly that is coupled to the front suspension mount and is positioned forward of the cab mounting bracket in a vehicle longitudinal direction.
