An exhaust pipe of an engine includes a crank-shaped pipe portion having a first bend and a second bend which guide exhaust gas to a mixer, and a straight pipe portion which is continuous with the second bend. The mixer is arranged in the straight pipe portion. An injector is attached to a portion of the second bend which faces the mixer. The injector has an injection axis which extends in a longitudinal direction of the straight pipe portion so as to point toward the mixer. A guide which guides a part of the exhaust gas from the first bend toward the injector is provided inside the crank-shaped pipe portion.

Exhaust gas purifier for engine

A cooling system for an engine is provided. The cooling system includes coolant flow paths including a first flow path and a second flow path and where coolant circulates, a coolant pump for circulating coolant within the coolant flow paths, a flow rate control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the coolant through the second flow path, a temperature detector for detecting a temperature of the coolant within the first flow path, and a valve controller for adjusting an opening of the flow rate control valve based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector. The first flow path passes through a cylinder head of the engine, and the second flow path branches from the first flow path and passes through auxiliary machinery of the engine.

Cooling system for engine

A cooling system for an engine is provided. The cooling system includes coolant flow paths including a first flow path and a second flow path and where coolant circulates, a coolant pump for circulating the coolant within the coolant flow paths, a flow rate control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the coolant through the second flow path, a temperature detector for detecting a temperature of the coolant within the first flow path, a valve controller for adjusting an opening of the flow rate control valve based on the temperature detected by the temperature detector, and an output level determiner for determining an output level of the engine based on at least one of a fuel injection amount for the engine and an engine speed.

The present invention is configured such that: a cylinder block includes an introducing portion provided at a first side of a cylinder row, cooling liquid being introduced through the introducing portion to a water jacket, a restrictor portion provided in a vicinity of the introducing portion and configured to restrict the cooling liquid, introduced through the introducing portion, from flowing to an intake-side portion of the water jacket, and a discharging portion provided at a middle portion of the cylinder row at an intake side, the cooling liquid being discharged from the water jacket through the discharging portion; and an exhaust-side portion of the water jacket is formed such that a passage cross-sectional area of a cylinder axis direction upper side of the exhaust-side portion is larger than the passage cross-sectional area of a cylinder axis direction lower side of the exhaust-side portion.

Cooling device for multiple cylinder engine

A cylinder block () includes an inlet portion (), a narrow portion (), and an inclined portion (). A cylinder head includes a head-side discharge portion. The inlet portion is formed on the first cylinder side of a cylinder array, and introduces coolant to a block-side water jacket (). The narrow portion is formed in the vicinity of the inlet portion, and restricts the coolant introduced through the inlet portion from flowing to an intake-side channel () of the block-side water jacket. The inclined portion is formed in the vicinity of the inlet portion, and guides the coolant introduced through the inlet portion toward the head. The head-side discharge portion is formed on the fourth cylinder side of the cylinder array, and discharges the coolant from a head-side water jacket. A communication path for communicating between the water jackets is formed on the head side of the inclined portion.

Cooling device for multi-cylinder engine

A cooling system for an engine is provided. The cooling system includes an EGR device including an EGR passage for recirculating exhaust gas into an intake passage, an EGR valve for adjusting a flow rate of the recirculating exhaust gas, and an EGR cooler for cooling the recirculating exhaust gas, an EGR valve controller for controlling the EGR valve, coolant flow paths including a first flow path and a second flow path and where coolant circulates, a coolant pump for circulating coolant within the coolant flow paths, a flow rate control valve for adjusting a flow rate of the coolant through the second flow path, a temperature detector for detecting a coolant temperature within the first flow path, and a valve controller for adjusting a flow rate control valve opening based on the detected temperature.

Disclosed is an engine cooling system which comprises: a head-side circulation pathway through which coolant from a water pump is circulated via a water jacket of a cylinder head and an EGR cooler; a block-side circulation pathway through which the coolant from the water pump is circulated via a water jacket of a cylinder block; and a switching valve unit operable, during cold operation of the engine, to pass the coolant from the water pump, along the head-side circulation pathway, and, when a temperature of the engine is raised up to a predetermined value, to pass the coolant from the water pump, along not only the head-side circulation pathway but also the block-side circulation pathway.

Engine cooling system

A lubricating device comprises a cam shaft, plural cam portions for each valve provided at the cylinder head, a valve driving mechanism to change a rotational movement of the cam portion to an opening-and-closing movement of the valve via a slide member on which a peripheral surface of the cam portion slides, an oil passage of the cam shaft, a nozzle provided at either one of the cam portions to open at the peripheral surface of the cam portion and connect to the oil passage of the cam shaft, and a wall body having a recess portion. The recess portion collects lubricating oil ejected out of the nozzle and guides the lubricating oil collected to the peripheral surface of the other cam portion when the one cam portion is located in a position in which the nozzle is not directed to the slide member.

Engine variable valve timing system

A rotational angle sensor and a hydraulic pressure control valve are disposed such that a detecting end surface of the rotational angle sensor disposed close to a sensor rotor attached to an exhaust camshaft is located in a spray area of return oil discharged through a drain hole formed at a cam cap, which flows down through a lower drain port of the hydraulic pressure control valve attached on the cam cap from a variable valve timing mechanism. Further, the detecting end surface is located forward in the rotational direction, shown as the arrow a, of the exhaust camshaft so that the return oil can be positively carried toward the detecting end surface by the rotation of the sensor rotor. Accordingly, this can maintain properly detecting accuracy of the rotational sensor disposed close to the camshaft.
