An image processing device includes a power supply unit, an operation unit, and an image processing unit. The power supply unit supplies power in first power supply mode or second power supply mode. The operation unit receives power from the power supply unit in first or second power supply mode and accepts an input from a user. The image processing unit receives the power if the power supply unit is in first power supply mode. At least one of the operation unit and the image processing unit determines whether a predetermined condition is satisfied if the power supply unit is in first power supply mode. At least one of the operation unit and the image processing unit is configured to perform a shutoff process to shut off power supply to at least one of electronic components in the image processing device if the predetermined shutoff condition is satisfied.

Image processing device and image processing unit including providing modes for supplying power to image processing units

An image processing apparatus includes an image processing unit, a switch which receives an input of a power supply-off command, a first controller which supplies power to at least the image processing unit, and a second controller. The first controller detects an input to the switch, and when an input to the switch is detected at a state where the apparatus is supplied with power, performs power supply-off processing of switching the apparatus to a state where the apparatus is not supplied with power. The second controller detects whether the first controller is at an abnormal state, and when it is detected the first controller is at the abnormal state, performs vicarious processing of performing at least a part of the power supply-off processing of the first controller.

An image processing apparatus includes an input/output unit which performs an input operation and/or an output operation, a supply unit which supplies power from a primary power source to the input/output unit, a storage unit which stores therein a state of power supply to the input/output unit before the power supply from the primary power source is interrupted, and a controller which, when the power supply is started from a state where the power supply from the primary power source is interrupted, determines whether to supply power to the input/output unit based on the state of power supply stored in the storage unit, and when determined to supply power to the input/output unit, controls the supply unit to supply or not to supply power to the input/output unit based on the determination.

An image processing device includes a detecting unit, a processing unit, a plurality of controllers, a command determination unit, and a load determination unit. The detecting unit is for detecting a command. The processing unit executes a process for the command. The plurality of controllers controls the processing unit and includes a first controller. The command determination unit determines whether or not the command indicates that the process is to be executed by the processing unit under the control of the first controller. The load determination unit determines whether or not a load required for the process is larger than a prescribed threshold value. While the first controller is in a halted state, if the command determination unit makes a negative determination and if the load determination unit makes a positive determination, the first controller is activated and controls the processing unit to execute the process.

An image reading apparatus including: a feeding device; a first reading unit that scans an image of a first surface of the document fed by the feeding device; a second reading unit that scans an image of a second surface of the document fed by the feeding device, wherein the second surface is opposite to the first surface; a first processing unit that processes the image data read by the first reading unit when performing a double-sided reading; a second processing unit that processes the image data read by the second reading unit when performing the double-sided reading, and a control unit that, when a one-sided reading of a following document is performed while one of the processing units is performing a processing of a one-sided reading of a preceding document, controls the other processing unit to perform processing of the one-sided reading of the following document.

A printer includes a receiving unit configured to receive a print job; a printing unit which executes a printing process to print an image on a recording medium based on the print job received by the receiving unit; a suspending unit which suspends the printing process based on suspension information added to the print job; an indicating unit which indicates that the printing is in process during suspension of the printing process; and a re-starting unit which re-starts the printing process suspended by the suspending unit.
